This strategic move is set to revolutionize semiconductor and printed circuit board (PCB) design by seamlessly integrating advanced generative and agentic AI capabilities throughout the entire EDA workflow.
The cornerstone of this innovation is the new, purpose-built EDA AI system. Designed for the unique complexities of semiconductor and PCB design environments, this system delivers secure, advanced AI functionalities, offering unparalleled customization and seamless integration. It empowers engineers to leverage their proprietary EDA data, enabling the creation of custom workflows that deploy AI precisely where it adds the most value, without disrupting existing processes.

The new EDA AI System prioritizes openness, security, and customizability. It supports flexible deployment options, including on-premises or cloud environments, ensuring enterprise-grade security and customizable access control to keep sensitive design data within customers’ secure data centers. A centralized multimodal data lake underpins the system, supporting a diverse range of AI models, including large and small language models, machine learning, and reinforcement learning, to continuously improve productivity.
Further enhancing its capabilities, Siemens’ EDA AI system incorporates NVIDIA NIM microservices and NVIDIA Llama Nemotron models. This collaboration facilitates the scalable deployment of inference-ready models, supporting real-time tool orchestration and multi-agent systems, and enabling high-context reasoning and robust tool-calling for more intelligent automation across system-on-a-chip (SoC), chip design, and PCB systems design and verification.
Among the specific tools highlighted is Aprisa™ AI software, a fully integrated technology within the Aprisa digital implementation solution. Aprisa AI introduces next-generation AI features and methodologies across RTL-to-GDS, including AI design exploration that adaptively optimizes for power, performance, and area (PPA) for a given design. It also features integrated generative AI-assist, delivering ready-to-run examples and solutions, promising up to 10x productivity gains and 3x faster tapeout times.
