These advancements, unveiled on November 5, 2025, focus on providing developers with a comprehensive and governed environment to leverage AI across their data ecosystems.
At the core of these innovations is the expansion of Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud with new agentic AI capabilities. The company emphasizes a shift towards integrating AI agents as ‘colleagues’ within enterprise workflows, enabling them to perform complex tasks and deliver actionable insights. Christian Kleinerman, Executive Vice President of Product at Snowflake, highlighted the company’s vision, stating, “The success of enterprise AI hinges on having the most trustworthy data, and the most productive developers. By delivering a single, intelligent, and governed environment, we’re not just accelerating code development and execution — we’re giving every developer a shorter, simpler path to build enterprise-ready AI apps that actually drive value. This is the new blueprint for enterprise innovation and a demonstration of how Snowflake is delivering on its promise of limitless interoperability.”
Among the newly introduced developer tools is Cortex Code, an AI assistant currently in private preview. This tool allows users to interact with their entire Snowflake environment using natural language, simplifying complex queries, optimizing resource usage, and fine-tuning results for cost savings. Complementing this, Snowflake Cortex AISQL is now generally available, enabling developers to build scalable AI pipelines within Snowflake Dynamic Tables (also generally available) through simple, declarative SQL queries.
Another significant enhancement is the general availability of Snowflake Intelligence, an enterprise intelligence agent designed to democratize data and AI access. Powered by industry-leading AI models from providers like Anthropic, Snowflake Intelligence allows users to ask complex questions in natural language and receive conversational insights, transforming data into immediate, real-time answers. Snowflake’s AI Research Team has made Snowflake Intelligence up to three times faster on text-to-SQL queries, ensuring trusted accuracy.
Collaboration and open-source integration have also seen substantial improvements. Snowflake’s Workspaces environment, now generally available, centralizes development and supports code management across various file types. It offers seamless integration with Git and Visual Studio Code (VS Code), allowing developers to utilize their preferred integrated development environments without leaving the Snowflake platform. Furthermore, the availability of dbt Projects on Snowflake enables organizations to deploy, test, and monitor data transformation pipelines directly within their Snowflake environment.
Security and data quality remain paramount. Snowflake has introduced upgrades to its Data Quality User Experience (now in public preview), which provides automatic data reliability assessment and generates summaries for analysis. Code security features have also been enhanced to protect against unauthorized code access, data poisoning, and model tampering, ensuring that agentic AI applications can be deployed with greater confidence and compliance. Additionally, AI Redact (in public preview soon) within Cortex AISQL will allow users to detect and redact sensitive data from unstructured datasets, preparing multimodal data for AI applications.
