Trust Stamp Secures Patent for Advanced AI-Powered Deepfake and Generative AI Attack Detection in Identity Authentication

TLDR: Trust Stamp (Nasdaq: IDAI) has received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a patent application covering technology designed to identify and counter deepfake and other generative AI-powered attacks in identity authentication. This patent, titled ‘Systems and Processes for Multifactor Authentication and Identification,’ leverages anonymized historical attack data to enhance fraud detection, addressing the growing sophistication of AI-fueled identity fraud, which cost American consumers an estimated $47 billion in 2024.

Atlanta, GA – October 24, 2025 – Trust Stamp (Nasdaq: IDAI), a global provider of AI-powered trust and identity services, announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a Notice of Allowance for its Non-Provisional Patent Application No. 18/145,470. The patent, officially titled ‘Systems and Processes for Multifactor Authentication and Identification,’ represents a significant advancement in the fight against sophisticated identity fraud, particularly those fueled by deepfake technology and other generative artificial intelligence (AI) attacks.

The newly allowed patent covers proprietary techniques that utilize anonymized data derived from historic attacks to identify and flag future fraudulent activities within identity authentication processes. This innovative approach is specifically engineered to detect the increasingly complex and evolving threats posed by generative AI, which has been observed to significantly enhance the volume and sophistication of cyberattacks.

Gareth N. Genner, Chief Executive Officer of Trust Stamp, highlighted the critical need for such technology, citing alarming statistics on identity fraud. ‘Identity fraud and related scams cost American consumers an estimated $47 billion in 2024,’ Genner stated. This figure includes substantial losses, with approximately $15.6 billion attributed to account takeover fraud and an additional $6.2 billion from new account fraud. Genner emphasized that ‘Generative AI fuels attack sophistication,’ underscoring the urgency for robust defensive mechanisms.

Trust Stamp’s methodology involves collaborating with financial institutions to monitor attack vectors in real-time. The anonymized data collected from these historical incidents is then integrated into advanced algorithms, enabling the system to predict and identify future attacks more effectively. This proactive stance is crucial in an era where digital identities are constantly under threat.
