The recognition highlights Zong’s commitment to cybersecurity and data protection within Pakistan’s telecom sector.

Zong 4G, a prominent technology innovation company in Pakistan, has been awarded the second position in the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) Annual Cyber Security Awards 2025. This achievement, announced at the Next-Gen Cyber Resilience Workshop and Telecom Cyber Security Awards 2025 held on August 12, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, signifies a notable advancement for Zong 4G, which previously held the third position in 2024 among Category-I operators. Category-I encompasses Cellular Mobile Operators and large multi-license operators.

The high-profile event was chaired by the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and served as a platform for telecom industry leaders to discuss critical advancements in areas such as 5G technology, FinTech, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and LEO Satellite Communications.

Each year, the PTA conducts comprehensive cybersecurity audits of all telecom stakeholders, evaluating their preparedness against emerging threats based on stringent criteria. Zong 4G’s performance was assessed on parameters including compliance with Critical Telecom Data & Infrastructure Security Regulation audits, enhancements in external attack surface management, active threat intelligence sharing with the National Telecom Security Operations Center (nTSOC), strong performance in the National Telecom Cyber Emergency Response Team (nTCERT), and a high DNS Security (DNSSEC) validation score by APNIC.

Mr. Rehan Siddiq, Head of Information Security at Zong 4G, commented on the achievement, stating, “This achievement is a testament to our teams’ dedication and our commitment to leading in cybersecurity and data protection. We will continue to invest in innovative security solutions to safeguard our customers and uphold national cyber standards.” This statement underscores Zong 4G’s ongoing dedication to strengthening Pakistan’s telecom security landscape and adhering to both global best practices and PTA regulations.
