TLDR: Zoho has launched Vani, an AI-powered workplace collaboration platform specifically designed for Indian teams. It emphasizes visual thinking with an infinite whiteboard, mind maps, and integrated AI features for generating content and streamlining workflows. Vani is available with a free tier and paid plans starting from Rs 240 per user per month (billed annually) for larger teams, or as part of the Zoho Workplace package at Rs 399 per month, aiming to compete with global players like Google and Microsoft by offering a local, visual-first alternative.
Chennai-based software giant Zoho Corporation has introduced ‘Vani,’ an innovative AI-powered visual collaboration platform tailored for the unique needs of Indian businesses. Launched on October 1, 2025, Vani aims to redefine how distributed and hybrid teams brainstorm, collaborate, and execute projects by prioritizing visual communication over traditional chat and document sharing. This move follows Zoho’s recent success with its messaging app, Arattai, further solidifying its commitment to providing indigenous tech solutions in India.
At the core of Zoho Vani is its infinite whiteboard, a digital canvas that offers limitless space for brainstorming, strategy building, and customer journey mapping without the constraints of page limits or slide decks. This feature is complemented by mind maps, designed to break down complex projects into manageable tasks and identify key insights. For seamless teamwork, Vani integrates built-in video meetings, allowing teams to initiate calls directly from their boards. Collaboration is further enhanced with comments and reactions, including voice notes and emoji options, fostering richer interactions.
AI is deeply embedded throughout Vani’s workflow, acting as an intelligent assistant. It can instantly generate visual elements such as flowcharts, decision trees, and mind maps, helping users overcome creative blocks. Furthermore, generative AI capabilities extend to providing summaries of ‘Spaces,’ ‘Frames,’ or any element within the platform, and automating next steps, thereby boosting productivity and alignment among team members. The platform also includes DB tables and workflows for managing projects, tasks, and campaign data within the same visual environment, eliminating the need to switch between multiple tools.
Vani introduces a structured approach to collaboration with ‘Spaces’ and ‘Zones.’ A Space functions like a folder, while Zones are individual canvases within that folder. Each Space can host multiple Zones, facilitating real-time collaboration for both free and paid users. Work created within these Spaces can be easily exported and shared via secure links, and users can also import documents and data from third-party applications.
In terms of pricing and availability, Zoho Vani offers a freemium model. It includes a free tier with basic features and media uploads up to 25 MB, catering to individuals and small teams. For larger teams, Vani is priced at Rs 240 per user per month when billed annually. Alternatively, Vani is also available as part of the broader Zoho Workplace package, which starts at Rs 399 per month. This package includes 1 TB of pooled storage, 100 GB per additional user, and supports up to 1000 participants in online meetings. Currently, Vani is accessible on desktop and via web browsers, with a mobile version slated for future release.

Zoho’s strategic launch of Vani positions it directly against established global collaboration tools like Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. By focusing on a visual-first approach and offering competitive pricing tailored for the Indian market, Zoho aims to provide a compelling local alternative, aligning with the growing national sentiment for homegrown technology solutions.
