Zifo Unveils AI-Driven Antibody Engineering Platform on Snowflake Marketplace to Accelerate Biologics Discovery

TLDR: Zifo has launched its AI-Powered Antibody Engineering application on the Snowflake Data Cloud and Snowflake Marketplace. This cloud-native GenAI platform aims to significantly accelerate biologics and drug discovery by enabling biopharma companies, research institutions, and contract research organizations to design and optimize therapeutic antibodies more rapidly and cost-effectively, without moving data outside Snowflake.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., CAMBRIDGE, England, and CHENNAI, India – August 14, 2025 – Zifo, a leading global R&D solutions provider, today announced the official launch of its innovative AI-Powered Antibody Engineering application. This cutting-edge solution is now available on the Snowflake Data Cloud and accessible via the Snowflake Marketplace, marking a significant advancement in the field of biologics and drug discovery.

The new application is a cloud-native Generative AI (GenAI) platform designed to empower biopharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and contract research organizations (CROs) to streamline and accelerate the design and optimization of therapeutic antibodies. Traditionally, the development of new antibody-based therapies is a complex, time-consuming, and expensive endeavor. Zifo’s new app directly addresses these challenges by integrating state-of-the-art artificial intelligence into a seamless, end-to-end workflow.

According to Chris McClure, Head of Solution Services for Zifo in North America, “We are entering a new era of drug discovery, one where AI and data converge to solve biology’s most complex puzzles. Zifo Antibody Engineering is more than just a tool; it’s a strategic partner for scientists. By building it as a Snowflake Native App, we’re giving researchers the power to innovate faster, reduce R&D costs, and ultimately bring life-saving therapies to patients sooner. We’ve effectively democratized access to complex AI, removing the need for deep machine learning expertise.”

The platform facilitates the entire discovery pipeline, from generating novel antibody sequences to predicting their 3D structures and analyzing key regions. It supports three prominent open-source protein language models—ProtGPT2, ESM, and RoBERTa—allowing users flexibility and the ability to benchmark different approaches within a single, adaptable environment. This approach mitigates model selection challenges and aims to improve the ‘hit rate’ for high-affinity therapeutic antibodies.

Lisa Arbogast, Industry Principal for Healthcare and Life Sciences Ecosystem at Snowflake, commented on the collaboration: “Zifo Antibody Engineering, combined with Snowflake’s infrastructure, offers life sciences a cutting-edge tool for research development. Together, we enable use of data to its fullest potential while helping customers adhere to high standards of security and compliance.” The solution leverages Snowflake Native Apps and Snowpark Container Services, ensuring seamless deployment, security, and scalability directly within Snowflake’s managed environment, eliminating the need to move sensitive data externally.
