San Francisco, USA – August 4, 2025 – In a significant move to accelerate the convergence of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology, ZetaChain and Google Cloud have officially launched a global AI-Powered Universal App Buildathon. This three-week virtual event, scheduled from August 2nd to August 24th, 2025, invites developers worldwide to innovate at the intersection of AI and Web3, leveraging Google’s advanced Gemini 2.5 series of AI models and ZetaChain’s unique Universal Blockchain.
The buildathon’s core objective is to inspire the creation of next-generation decentralized applications (dApps) that can seamlessly integrate AI capabilities with cross-chain functionalities. Participants will utilize Gemini 2.5’s robust features, including its advanced function calling, code understanding, reasoning, and natural language processing, to develop intelligent agents capable of executing complex blockchain actions based on natural language commands or user intent. ZetaChain’s Universal Blockchain, a Layer 1 platform, provides native connectivity to a multitude of blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, enabling developers to write a single smart contract that can interact across any connected chain, a capability currently unmatched by other platforms.
Denis Fadeev, Head of Developer Relations at ZetaChain, highlighted the transformative potential of this synergy, stating, “Gemini agents can interpret requests like ‘move my native BTC to earn interest on Ethereum,’ and ZetaChain gives that agent the native on-chain accessibility to make it happen.” This integration promises to simplify user experiences and unlock new possibilities for autonomous Web3 agents.
The buildathon, organized in collaboration with DoraHacks, offers a substantial incentive package for participants. A total prize pool of $9,000 is available, alongside $1,000 in Google Cloud credits for all participants. Winning teams will also benefit from enhanced visibility, mentorship opportunities, and long-term support within the burgeoning ZetaChain ecosystem.
Proposed use cases for the buildathon include the development of voice or chat-driven multi-chain AI wallet assistants, autonomous cross-chain agents, AI dashboards for multi-chain data analysis, smart auto-responders for wallets and dApps, and tokenized AI outputs that can execute decisions based on real-time blockchain events. Developers will have access to ZetaChain’s testnet faucet on Google Cloud to acquire testnet tokens and deploy their innovative solutions.
