TLDR: Ensemble, a decentralized artificial intelligence agent platform, has partnered with XMTP, an enterprise-grade messaging protocol, to create a frictionless chat-native AI economy. This collaboration aims to integrate AI agents seamlessly into decentralized messaging, allowing users to interact with and pay for autonomous agents directly within messaging platforms.
Ensemble, a leading platform for decentralized artificial intelligence agents, has officially announced its integration with XMTP, an enterprise-grade messaging protocol. This strategic partnership, revealed on August 22, 2025, is set to revolutionize the interaction with AI agents by fostering a frictionless, chat-native AI economy within decentralized messaging environments. The collaboration is poised to significantly advance the adoption of AI agents in the web3 space.
The integration enables Ensemble to expand its Agent Hub marketplace, providing users with the capability to leverage XMTP’s support for a chat-native agent economy. A key benefit of this partnership is the ability for Ensemble users to pay for autonomous agents directly from their wallets or through any application built on the XMTP network, eliminating the need to switch between platforms.
XMTP’s robust infrastructure, which currently powers nearly 1 million identities and over 63 million activated wallets, is central to this initiative. This extensive reach ensures that Ensemble’s AI agents can operate across various wallets, social applications, and XMTP protocols, making AI interactions more accessible and user-friendly.
Peter Denton of XMTP emphasized the significance of this development, stating, ‘AI agents are rapidly becoming an integral part of how people work and interact online, but until now they’ve been locked into siloed apps and platforms. With Ensemble building on XMTP, they’re enabling a chat-native agent economy that works anywhere the XMTP network reaches, across wallets, social apps, and the XMTP protocols. It’s a big step toward a world where secure, decentralized messaging connects people, AI, and money without friction or lock-in.’
For Ensemble, this partnership means leveraging XMTP’s capabilities to transform complex workflows into simple, intuitive, chat-native experiences. The integration extends the same decentralized messaging functionalities already utilized in prominent web3 applications like Base, Farcaster, and Lens.
Ensemble’s roadmap in the AI agent sector includes innovative offerings such as a decentralized finance (DeFi) alert system with tiered subscriptions, payable directly within chat. The protocol is also developing a DeFi analyst agent, designed to provide on-demand analysis, quotes, and a pay-per-query model to users. Shamir Ozery, co-founder and CEO of Ensemble, articulated the company’s vision: ‘Our mission is to bring AI agents to the masses by making them as trustworthy, accessible and useful as possible.’

This collaboration comes as XMTP seeks to capitalize on a recent $20 million funding round, which aims to accelerate the growth and adoption of its web3 messaging infrastructure stack. The partnership is expected to allow users to request and receive results from AI agents within the same XMTP thread, streamlining interactions and enhancing efficiency.
