Workato Establishes AI Institute Alliance in Singapore to Boost AI Talent and Innovation

SINGAPORE – September 22, 2025 – Workato®, a prominent leader in agentic orchestration, today announced the official launch of its AI Institute Alliance. This strategic initiative marks a significant step in enhancing Singapore’s AI workforce development landscape and bolstering the local ecosystem of AI talents. The Alliance is formed in collaboration with several key education partners, including Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore University of Social Sciences, and the National University of Singapore.

The primary objective of the AI Institute Alliance is to equip the next-generation workforce with advanced AI and automation skills that are directly applicable to workplace readiness and economic impact. This comprehensive talent development program is in alignment with Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0, combining AI excellence with efforts to reskill and upskill individuals, businesses, and communities. Participants will gain hands-on experience and acquire skills to confidently and responsibly utilize AI through Workato’s agentic orchestration platform. The program also includes mentorship from experts and opportunities for internships with leading companies within Workato’s ecosystem.

The launch event, held at the World of Workato 2025 Singapore, featured a welcome address by Simon Chesterman, Senior Director of AI Governance at AI Singapore and Vice Provost at the National University of Singapore. Chesterman spoke on “The University Disrupted: Higher Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” highlighting the opportunities and challenges facing universities and students in an AI-reshaped economic landscape. He emphasized, “As AI disrupts the traditional model of higher education, universities can benefit from collaboration with industry to ensure that our graduates have the skills both to survive and to thrive in this brave new world.” He further added, “That means understanding the potential and the limitations of the latest technology, as well as having the adaptability and resilience to identify and seize the next big thing. It also means accepting that you will never truly finish your education, we all need to be lifelong learners.”

Workato has a proven track record, having already provided essential automation and integration skills to over 3,000 tertiary students through various partnerships. This new Alliance expands its training to offer students and educators advanced, enterprise-level automation skills, aiming for greater professional impact. By facilitating direct industry connections, the collaboration seeks to address evolving global hiring needs and bridge the existing skills gap in AI and automation technologies. Over the past three years, Workato has successfully connected numerous industry partners and customers with emerging tech talent through its training programs.
