Bengaluru-based WizCommerce, an artificial intelligence (AI)-focused sales and e-commerce platform tailored for wholesale distributors, has announced a significant fundraise of $8 million. The funding round was spearheaded by prominent venture capital firm Peak XV Partners, with notable contributions from Blume Ventures, Z47, and Alpha Wave.
Founded by Divyaanshu Makkar and Vikas Garg, WizCommerce aims to revolutionize the vast $10-trillion US wholesale market, which traditionally grapples with inefficiencies stemming from reliance on spreadsheets and manual processes. The platform integrates critical functions such as quoting, storefronts, ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems, and payments, thereby streamlining sales operations and automating administrative tasks for distributors.
The fresh capital infusion is earmarked for strategic expansion of WizCommerce’s operations within the United States. A substantial portion will also be dedicated to further developing its proprietary technology, with a focus on strengthening sales, commerce, and payment capabilities for wholesale businesses. The company currently boasts an impressive $200 million in annualised gross merchandise value (GMV) processed through its platform.
