Volkswagen of America Taps CI&T to Accelerate Digital Transformation with AI Focus

TLDR: Volkswagen of America has appointed technology consultancy CI&T as its new Digital Agency of Record (AOR) to spearhead its digital marketing and customer experience initiatives in the U.S. The partnership emphasizes leveraging CI&T’s expertise in generative AI to enhance platforms like VW.com and the MyVW mobile app, aiming for more seamless and intuitive customer interactions and accelerated digital innovation.

Volkswagen of America has announced the appointment of CI&T, a global technology transformation specialist, as its new Digital Agency of Record (AOR). This strategic move is set to significantly accelerate Volkswagen’s digital transformation efforts across its U.S. operations, focusing on enhancing the core digital marketing and ownership ecosystem.

CI&T’s mandate includes the strategy, design, and development for key digital touchpoints such as VW.com and the MyVW mobile application. A pivotal factor in Volkswagen’s selection of CI&T is the consultancy’s profound expertise in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and its product-first development approach. This aligns with Volkswagen’s ambition to modernize its digital infrastructure and deliver superior customer experiences.

The integration of GenAI tools is central to this collaboration. CI&T will leverage its capabilities, including its proprietary AI platform, CI&T FLOW, to boost productivity, accelerate delivery, and automate processes like content generation, predictive analytics, and user personalization. This AI-driven strategy is designed to create tangible business value and ensure solutions are deeply rooted in user needs.

This partnership has already yielded notable successes, playing a crucial role in the digital launches of recent Volkswagen models, including the all-electric ID. Buzz, the third-generation Tiguan, and the refreshed Taos. For instance, the digital rollout of the ID. Buzz, enhanced by AI-driven customer segmentation and interactive virtual showrooms, resulted in a significant 12% increase in online engagement metrics compared to traditional campaigns. Furthermore, the collaboration has contributed to a 13.7% revenue growth for CI&T in Q1 2025, with AI tools reportedly reducing project timelines by 30%.

Rachael Zaluzec, Chief Marketing Officer at Volkswagen of America, underscored the importance of this digital evolution, stating, “Digital is key to how customers experience the Volkswagen brand, and we’re focused on reimagining every touchpoint to be more seamless, intuitive, and valuable.” She added, “Working with CI&T gives us the strategic insight, technical depth, and executional speed we want to bring bold ideas to life—with the goal of delivering real impact for both our customers and our dealers.”

Nick Haywood, SVP of Automotive at CI&T, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, remarking, “Volkswagen has bold ambitions for the future of mobility, and we’re honored to be chosen as their digital agency of record. Their vision aligns seamlessly with CI&T’s deep expertise in strategy, innovation, design, and development. Together, we’re creating smarter, customer-centric digital experiences that empower dealers, engage drivers, and bring the future of the brand to life.”

This collaboration signifies Volkswagen’s commitment to digital differentiation in a competitive market, building on previous efforts such as the integration of Google generative AI software like Gemini and Vertex into the MyVW app last year. CI&T’s proven track record across various industries, including automotive, and its recognition by Forrester Research for its app development capabilities, position it as a key partner in Volkswagen’s journey towards an AI-driven digital ecosystem. The automaker’s U.S. segment reported a 1.4% increase in vehicle deliveries in Q1 2025, indicating a positive trajectory amidst these digital advancements.
