Vimeo Accelerates Enterprise Expansion with Advanced AI for Video Management

TLDR: Vimeo is significantly boosting its enterprise segment by integrating ChatGPT-style AI capabilities into its video libraries, aiming to transform how businesses manage, access, and utilize video content. This strategic focus, highlighted during its Q2 2025 earnings call, has led to strong financial performance and increased adoption by major corporations.

Vimeo is making significant strides in the enterprise market by embedding advanced artificial intelligence, akin to ChatGPT, into its video management platform. This strategic pivot is designed to revolutionize how organizations interact with their vast video libraries, driving efficiency and unlocking new insights.

The company’s commitment to AI-driven growth was a key highlight during its Q2 2025 earnings call on August 5, 2025. Vimeo reported robust financial results, with total bookings growing 6% year-over-year, marking its strongest growth since 2022. The enterprise segment, a core focus for this AI integration, saw its revenue jump by an impressive 25%. This strong performance contributed to Vimeo reporting a profit of $0.04 per share, surpassing Wall Street expectations, and led the company to raise its 2025 adjusted EBITDA guidance to approximately $35 million, up from a previous range of $25 million to $30 million.

At the heart of this initiative is ‘Vimeo Central,’ an AI-powered video hub launched earlier, designed to centralize video content, extract actionable insights, and foster more connected and productive organizations. Key AI features include the ability to automatically condense lengthy videos into highlight reels, generate detailed video summaries, titles, tags, and chapters, and enable users to ‘ask the video any question’ to pinpoint specific moments within recordings. Furthermore, Vimeo AI supports text-based editing, allowing users to modify video content by simply editing auto-transcriptions, and offers multi-language subtitle translation in over 30 languages, including support for custom vocabulary.

Vimeo CEO Philip Moyer emphasized the future direction, stating the goal is to make Vimeo ‘almost like ChatGPT for Vimeo,’ providing access to the entire video library through a simple, natural language interface, a concept he termed ‘agentic video.’ Moyer highlighted the vast potential applications, including augmenting patient experiences in healthcare, reducing customer support costs by delivering precise video answers, and streamlining employee onboarding processes.

Major companies, including Whole Foods, eBay, Zuora, Spotify, Jaguar Land Rover, and FanDuel, are already leveraging Vimeo Central, underscoring the platform’s appeal to technologically advanced organizations. The integration of AI has demonstrably boosted productivity, with one client, Ivanti, an IT and security provider, reporting an 80% reduction in video production time thanks to Vimeo’s AI tools. Research from the University of Chicago further supports the productivity gains, indicating that generative AI can halve the time required for 31% of job tasks.

Looking ahead, Vimeo anticipates that AI will fundamentally reshape how businesses utilize learning management systems (LMS) and video broadcasting tools for employee training and development, optimizing content and enhancing progress tracking. The company’s continued investment in AI capabilities positions it to capture a larger share of the enterprise video market, transforming video from a passive medium into an interactive and intelligent knowledge source.
