The ceremony, a highlight of the two-day event, honored women for their leadership, innovation, and positive influence within the AI community.

The awards recognized achievements in five categories, with winners selected by a VentureBeat committee from a pool of public nominations. The recipients were chosen based on their commitment to advancing the industry and fostering inclusivity.

The winners of the 2025 Women in AI Awards are:

AI Entrepreneur Award: Natalya Lopareva, CEO and founder of Algorized. Her company, which originated from research at the University of Zurich, develops AI for people-sensing, with applications in disaster-response scenarios. In her acceptance speech, Lopareva credited her team, stating, “the recognition belonged to her entire team and the brilliant women at the company.”

AI Research Award: Lindsay Richman, CEO of Vibrissa AI. Richman’s team is focused on sensor and biometric data research, with applications in longevity, cellular orchestration, and mitochondrial health. Richman explained the company’s name, saying, “a vibrissa is a whisker that detects vibrations,” which reflects their goal of enhancing sensor-based recording.

AI Mentorship Award: Suruchi Shah, an engineering manager at LinkedIn’s model serving team. Shah is a leader in the development of infrastructure for large language model (LLM) serving. In a message, she said the award was shared with the women she mentors.

Responsibility & Ethics of AI Award: Stephanie Cohen, the chief strategy officer at Cloudflare. Cohen is recognized for her work in redefining the internet’s economic model with a focus on sustainability and support for content creators. In a video message, she highlighted Cloudflare’s mission to build a better internet through responsible AI.

Rising Star Award: Arina Vlasova, CEO of DataGPT.
