TLDR: The Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana, led by H.E. Amb. Prof. Hugh Keku Aryee, delivered a keynote address at the 2025 Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) Conference, emphasizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a key driver for Africa’s digital future in education and economic growth. The Commission, in collaboration with ECO-6 and ADCB, pledged a USD 200 million investment in AKL Lumi digital currency to GNAPS members to foster innovative education and financial inclusion.

Accra, Ghana – The Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana is spearheading a significant push for Africa’s digital future, with a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a transformative force in education and economic development. This initiative was prominently featured at the 2025 Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) Conference, where H.E. Amb. Prof. Hugh Keku Aryee, the Trade Commissioner of Vanuatu to Ghana, delivered a compelling keynote address.

Prof. Aryee urged African nations to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution, highlighting its potential to accelerate growth across education, finance, and innovation. Representing the Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana, in partnership with the Secretariat of the Economic Community of the 6th Region of Africa (ECO-6) and the African Diaspora Central Bank (ADCB), he introduced the concept of the ‘Meta Generation’ – a new wave of young Africans poised to revolutionize learning and technology throughout the continent.

He underscored the vital role of the African diaspora in propelling the continent’s progress, identifying ECO-6 as the African Union-recognized representative of the diaspora. Prof. Aryee’s message to participants was clear: ‘Your network is your net worth,’ encouraging them to leverage partnerships for sustainable development.

Beyond the digital agenda, Prof. Aryee also shed light on Vanuatu’s global presence and its expanding economic ties with Africa. He showcased the Pacific nation’s resilience, rich culture, and innovative spirit, citing kava exports as a prime example of mutually beneficial trade opportunities. Kava, a traditional root crop, accounts for nearly half of Vanuatu’s merchandise exports and supports 42% of its rural households. In the realm of tourism, he highlighted Vanuatu’s reputation as one of the ‘happiest places on earth,’ celebrated for its pristine beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and unique cultural experiences, such as Pentecost Island’s land diving ritual. Recent data indicates that over 91% of visitors recommend Vanuatu as a travel destination.

Further solidifying bilateral relations, Prof. Aryee announced that seven Ghanaian businesses have already established operations in Vanuatu, spanning sectors like agriculture, ICT, tourism, and trade, signaling a robust and growing engagement between the two regions.
