Ultimo Unveils Agentic AI for Autonomous HSE Incident Reporting, Revolutionizing Enterprise Asset Management

TLDR: Ultimo, an IFS company, has launched its first agentic AI solution focused on autonomous Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) incident reporting. Coinciding with AI Appreciation Day on July 16, 2025, this new technology aims to transform industrial asset management by automating incident capture, identifying trends, and initiating proactive measures, addressing critical challenges like manual reporting inefficiencies and skill gaps in the workforce.

Ultimo, a prominent provider of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software and an IFS company, has announced a significant leap in its technological offerings with the debut of its first agentic AI use case. Launched on July 16, 2025, to coincide with the 5th annual AI Appreciation Day, the innovation focuses on autonomous Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) incident reporting, marking a pivotal step in Ultimo’s broader agentic AI framework for EAM.

This new agentic AI functionality is designed to act as a specialized digital coworker, embedded directly into organizational workflows. Its primary objective is to address the long-standing inefficiencies and blind spots inherent in traditional, manual safety management and incident reporting. Historically, reliance on human employees to document safety-related events, near-misses, or unsafe conditions has often led to incomplete data, preventing EHS officers from gaining comprehensive visibility into workplace safety risks and hindering the implementation of effective preventive measures.

Ultimo’s agentic AI solution continuously monitors work requests and other relevant data streams, automatically identifying potential EHS-related content. It then generates comprehensive incident reports with minimal human intervention, extracting critical information such as event descriptions, material damage assessments, staff involvement, injury details, and environmental impact data. This autonomous approach ensures that safety incidents are captured regardless of manual reporting compliance, providing EHS officers with unprecedented visibility into their organization’s actual safety landscape.

The technology goes beyond mere reporting; it is capable of consolidating data, identifying trends, and recognizing broader issues that individual human observers might miss. By doing so, it helps eliminate gaps in HSE reporting, increases efficiency across the asset base, and proactively initiates actions to reduce incident recurrence or deliver proactive maintenance. This ultimately improves risk mitigation and regulatory compliance across industrial organizations.

The introduction of this agentic AI also directly addresses a critical talent challenge within the EAM sector. Ultimo’s Maintenance Trend Report indicates that 63% of organizations struggle with an aging workforce, leading to significant skills gaps. The administration of complex EAM systems, which requires an understanding of compliance regulations and physical assets, can be augmented by these AI agents. They can quickly ingest and understand required knowledge, thereby supporting existing asset management professionals and bridging the knowledge scarcity gap.

This EHS agentic AI functionality is currently available in early release for customers and represents the first of many AI agents Ultimo plans to embed into its platform. Future agentic AI features are expected to include automated scheduling, preventive maintenance optimization, and stock optimization, further redefining the capabilities offered by Ultimo EAM. Ultimo, which supports over 120,000 technicians managing more than 15 million assets for approximately 2,400 customers worldwide, is positioning this framework to usher in a new era of autonomous, proactive operations in industrial asset management.

While the specific communication channels for the AI agent (e.g., Teams, Slack, Email, SMS) have not been fully detailed, the intent is to deliver information to the right people at the right time, ensuring seamless integration into existing workflows. This strategic shift from reactive maintenance to proactive, intelligent operations underscores Ultimo’s commitment to leveraging advanced AI to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance in the industrial sector.
