TLDR: Trend Micro has launched a new cyber resilience model leveraging AI-powered digital twin technology to enable organizations to proactively simulate threats, validate defenses, and optimize security policies in real-time virtual environments, moving beyond traditional reactive security measures.
Trend Micro Inc., the Japanese cybersecurity software company, has introduced a groundbreaking cyber resilience model centered around an AI-powered digital twin technology. Unveiled on July 31, 2025, this innovative offering aims to revolutionize proactive cybersecurity defense by allowing organizations to create high-fidelity, continuously updated simulations of their entire information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) environments.
The core of this new model lies in its ability to model and simulate threats, validate existing defenses, and adjust security policies within a virtual replica of an enterprise’s infrastructure, all before potential attacks can impact live production systems. The digital twin technology is built upon Nvidia Corp.’s accelerated computing stack and AI Enterprise software, utilizing agentic AI to power its sophisticated simulation capabilities.
Rachel Jin, Chief Enterprise Platform Officer at Trend Micro, highlighted the critical need for such advancements, stating, “Enterprises are struggling to defend complex, dynamic infrastructure environments from highly adaptive, AI-powered adversaries. Rapid shifts in threat actor tactics and IT infrastructure mean reactive, point-in-time risk assessments are no longer fit for purpose.” She further emphasized the transformative potential, adding, “Our digital twin technology empowers customers to simulate threats and safely validate security controls without touching production systems, to finally close the gap between digital transformation and defensive readiness.”
The virtual environments serve as dynamic testbeds where security teams can model attacker behavior, experiment with new security tools, and make informed, data-driven decisions without risking operational disruption. This cyber resilience model supports a diverse range of scenarios, including adversary simulations, business continuity testing, and investment decision modeling. For instance, organizations can test the efficacy of new security tools in a virtual clone of their infrastructure or simulate business-critical failure events to understand potential ripple effects across connected systems.

This marks a significant evolution in cybersecurity, shifting practices from static and reactive to dynamic and predictive. By enabling organizations to anticipate and stay ahead of adversaries, harden their environments against cyber threats, and confidently secure mission-critical operations, Trend Micro’s AI-powered digital twin aims to ensure greater resilience in an increasingly complex digital landscape. Jin further elaborated on the proactive nature, stating, ‘digital twin is to help our customer to be more proactive. because in the digital twin you make a lot of decisions. before the production you know change exactly so this is super super proactive for our customer.’
