TLDR: Treasure has officially launched its AI agents on the Ronin blockchain, starting with the popular idle game Fishing Frenzy. These customizable AI-powered bots allow players to automate various in-game tasks, including fishing, cooking, and claiming rewards, marking a significant step in on-chain gaming automation and expanding the play-to-earn experience.
Following its strategic pivot to AI agents in April, the blockchain gaming project Treasure has brought the first iteration of its AI technology live on the Ronin blockchain. This move comes as a notable development, given Treasure’s previous operations on Ethereum Layer 2 solutions such as Arbitrum and zkSync. The integration was facilitated by Ronin’s newly permissionless status, which enables projects to quickly onboard and integrate their technologies.
The initial rollout sees Treasure’s AI agents integrated with the idle game Fishing Frenzy, making it the first game on Ronin to support this advanced feature. The integration also includes support for Treasure’s native MAGIC token on Ronin’s Katana DEX, which powers the AI agents’ operations.
Players interested in leveraging these autonomous agents can create their own for a cost of 150 MAGIC tokens, equivalent to approximately $42. Additionally, 20 MAGIC is loaded into the agent’s wallet to cover gas fees for its operations. These agents can be connected to existing Fishing Frenzy accounts or new ones. To unlock advanced functionalities, the Fishing Frenzy account must reach certain levels; for instance, Level 15 is required for the agent to access the kitchen and cook, while Level 30 is needed for diving capabilities.
Once deployed, the AI agents can perform a wide array of in-game tasks automatically. These include casting fishing lines (either one at a time or in sequence), utilizing bait, consuming sushi to replenish energy, claiming daily rewards, verifying quest completions, and securing battlepass rewards. Each fishing run by an agent is estimated to cost a minimal amount, around 0.005 MAGIC. Players also have the option to customize their agent’s personality for an additional 40 MAGIC.
Adding a layer of personalization and utility, agents can be generated in the form of various Ronin NFT collections, such as Axies, Ronke, and Cyberkongz. Alternatively, players can choose from licensed Key Opinion Leader (KOL) personalities, including AgentYP, Raiden, Cagy, Jaihoz, and S4mmy, which are implemented as soulbound NFTs.
