TLDR: TransRe has announced a strategic partnership with Cytora, a digital risk processing platform, to integrate its AI-powered Concierge service into TransRe’s global facultative reinsurance operations. This collaboration aims to significantly enhance underwriting speed, efficiency, and data accuracy while reducing operational costs and enabling underwriters to focus on more complex risks.
TransRe, a leading reinsurer, has entered into a significant partnership with Cytora, a prominent digital risk processing platform, to revolutionize its facultative reinsurance operations worldwide. The collaboration will see TransRe adopting Cytora’s AI-powered Concierge service, a move designed to digitize and streamline its global processes.
The primary objective of this integration is to enable TransRe to manage higher submission volumes more efficiently, reduce operational costs, and improve the accuracy of its data. By automating routine tasks, the AI platform will free up underwriters and claims teams, allowing them to dedicate their expertise to more intricate and complex risks.
Richard Hartley, CEO of Cytora, emphasized the transformative impact of risk digitization, stating, “Risk digitization is having a tremendous impact across all major workflows and is demonstrating a clear path to a scalable business model where growth in premium is increasingly decoupled from growth in expense.” He further highlighted TransRe’s forward-thinking approach, adding, “TransRe has a compelling vision to use Generative AI as a foundation for business growth with improved control over risk selection and enhanced service. Our partnership will enable TransRe to drive profitable growth across their facultative business.”
The partnership follows Cytora’s recent launch of Unified Risk Reasoning, a tool designed to fully automate pre-decisioning workflows by automatically reviewing, selecting, and finalizing the fields critical for risk decisions. This innovation is expected to accelerate automation, boost efficiency, and reduce costs for various entities within the insurance ecosystem, including insurers, brokers, and reinsurers.
Matt Mahoney, COO of TransRe, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting the high-flow nature of facultative insurance. “Facultative insurance is a high-flow business, and we have been impressed by the functionality and scalability of Cytora’s platform,” Mahoney stated. He added, “We are excited to work together to drive digitization across our business. Cytora helps us augment our underwriting and claims professionals, which in turn will improve our service to our business partners.”
