Tipalti, a pioneer in AI-powered finance automation, announced today it has secured a substantial $200 million in growth financing. The funding round was led by existing backer Hercules Capital, Inc., underscoring a continued partnership aimed at advancing the company’s strategic initiatives. This capital injection is set to fuel Tipalti’s aggressive investment in artificial intelligence, drive further product innovation, and bolster its global growth ambitions.
Chen Amit, CEO and Co-founder of Tipalti, emphasized the company’s trajectory, stating, “Crossing over the $200M ARR threshold is a testament to both the value we deliver to our customers and the growing urgency for finance operations efficiency globally. As trust and reliability are paramount in our business, we’re proud to help mid-market finance teams scale smarter with intelligent automation. Our market opportunity is immense. As an innovation leader, we are building for long-term impact as we redefine what’s possible for modern businesses through AI.”
The financing arrives at a period of robust growth for Tipalti. The company recently celebrated surpassing $200 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and has expanded its customer base by 30% over the past year. Its platform now processes approximately $75 billion annually in payment volume, marking a 30% year-over-year increase. Prominent brands such as Calm, Udemy, AG1, and AppLovin leverage Tipalti’s software to streamline finance operations, reduce manual workloads, enhance visibility, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance at scale.
The core focus of this new funding is to accelerate Tipalti’s AI capabilities. The company has been at the forefront of integrating AI into finance, notably with its recent acquisition of Statement, an AI-native treasury automation startup. This acquisition brought ‘Robin AI,’ described as the world’s first AI treasury assistant, into Tipalti’s ecosystem. Building on this, Tipalti has unveiled a major upgrade to its AI offerings, introducing several powerful, context-aware AI agents designed to assist finance professionals across various automation elements.
These new AI agents include:
Reporting Agent: Generates customized reports using natural language prompts, allowing users to analyze supplier, procurement, invoice, and payment data, refine reports, and save dashboards for real-time visibility.
Tax Form Scan Agent: Automates supplier onboarding with tax compliance scanning to extract W-9 data and accelerate approvals.
Purchase Request Agent: Streamlines intake by auto-generating purchase requests, connecting approval workflows, and supporting parallel approvals.
Branded Experience Agent: Provides a consistent onboarding experience for payees, with AI-assisted customization to reduce delays.
Catherine Jhung, Senior Managing Director of Hercules Capital, expressed confidence in Tipalti’s vision: “We are proud to deepen our long-standing partnership with Tipalti at such an exciting stage of their growth journey. Their proven track record of pairing strong growth with meaningful product innovation makes them a rare company.
