TLDR: Thinking Machines Data Science has partnered with OpenAI to become its first official Services Partner in Asia Pacific. This collaboration aims to accelerate enterprise AI adoption in the region by providing ChatGPT Enterprise training and Agentic AI implementation services, addressing the gap between AI adoption and tangible business value.
Thinking Machines Data Science and artificial intelligence powerhouse OpenAI have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at significantly boosting enterprise AI adoption across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This partnership marks a pivotal moment, with Thinking Machines becoming OpenAI’s inaugural official Services Partner in the APAC territory. The initiative will focus on delivering comprehensive ChatGPT Enterprise training and specialized Agentic AI implementation services to executives and organizations throughout the region.
The collaboration comes at a crucial time, as recent industry research, including a study by IBM, indicates that while 61% of APAC enterprises have adopted AI, many are struggling to translate this adoption into concrete business value. Key challenges identified include deficits in executive capabilities and hurdles in cultural adaptation within organizations.
Thinking Machines, leveraging the support and technology from OpenAI, is poised to tackle these challenges head-on. Their approach includes offering targeted, hands-on training programs, developing bespoke implementation frameworks, and creating and deploying custom Agentic AI applications that harness OpenAI’s advanced application programming interfaces (APIs).
Stephanie Sy, Founder and CEO of Thinking Machines, emphasized the region’s readiness for such advancements. “The markets in the Asia Pacific are showing remarkable momentum in AI adoption, underscoring the region’s readiness to embrace enterprise-grade solutions,” Sy stated. She further elaborated on the partnership’s broader vision: “Through our collaboration with OpenAI, we’re not just bringing in new technology but we’re helping organisations build the skills, strategies, and support systems they need to take advantage of AI. For us, it’s about reinventing the future of work through human-AI collaboration and making AI truly work for people across the Asia Pacific Region.”
This partnership is also a component of OpenAI’s broader expansion strategy within the Asia Pacific. OpenAI established its regional headquarters in Singapore in late 2024, a country that currently boasts the highest per-capita usage rates for ChatGPT globally. Singapore’s robust adoption aligns seamlessly with its National AI Strategy, which aims to enhance societal outcomes through AI technology.
Andy Brown, Head of Go-to-Market for Asia Pacific at OpenAI, highlighted the enthusiasm from regional leaders. “Across Asia Pacific, we are seeing business leaders eager to unlock new productivity gains and venture into innovative use cases with AI,” Brown commented. He added, “This initiative with Thinking Machines will give leaders the know-how and hands-on support to embed our latest GPT-5 model into their daily operations, helping them move from experimentation to impact.”
A key component of the new collaboration will be the launch of an executive enablement programme. This program is designed to equip senior executives with practical tools and techniques for strategically deploying AI within their organizations. It will cover not only technical proficiencies but also strategies for developing “AI second brains,” with the ultimate goal of achieving significant productivity improvements at an organizational level.

The program will initially roll out in Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand, leveraging Thinking Machines’ existing regional offices in these countries. Future phases include plans for expansion across the wider Asia Pacific territory. Looking ahead, Thinking Machines intends to further develop its AI services for critical industries such as financial services, retail, and manufacturing, drawing upon the combined expertise of both companies to address the unique challenges and opportunities prevalent in each sector. Thinking Machines has a strong track record, having already trained over 10,000 professionals in AI.
