The AA Accelerates Digital Transformation with boost.ai Partnership, Deploying AI Agent in 30 Days for UK Drivers

TLDR: The AA, a leading UK breakdown and insurance provider, has partnered with boost.ai to rapidly deploy an AI agent within 30 days. This initiative aims to enhance digital customer service for millions of UK drivers by expanding self-service options, improving access to information, and providing 24/7 support through advanced conversational AI.

LONDON, August 21, 2025 – The AA, a prominent UK-based provider of breakdown and insurance services, has announced a strategic partnership with boost.ai, a recognized leader in conversational AI platforms. This collaboration marks a significant step in The AA’s digital service transformation, with the ambitious goal of deploying an AI agent within just 30 days to serve its vast customer base of millions of UK drivers.

Boost.ai, acknowledged as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrantâ„¢ for Conversational AI Platforms, will enable The AA to implement best-in-class AI-powered customer experience solutions. The primary objectives include expanding self-service offerings, improving customer access to account-specific information, and delivering support outside traditional operating hours, ensuring ‘always-on’ assistance.

This deployment positions The AA as one of the first UK breakdown and insurance companies to integrate generative AI directly into its customer channels. The move addresses the growing pressure on insurers to meet rising customer expectations and comply with consumer duty, all while maintaining control and security. Boost.ai’s enterprise-grade AI is designed to automate complex customer journeys without compromising security, a crucial factor for regulated industries like insurance.

Jerry Haywood, CEO of boost.ai, emphasized the importance of real-time support in the insurance sector. “For insurers, real-time support isn’t just expected, it’s essential. The AA understands that when customers are on the roadside in the middle of the night, or dealing with an unexpected event, timing and clarity matter,” said Haywood. He added, “What sets The AA apart is their recognition that conversational AI isn’t just about efficiency, it’s about expanding access to customer support in the channels they’re already using. By placing generative AI at the forefront of their customer support offering, they’ve clearly demonstrated their place as an innovator in the UK insurance space.”

The phased rollout commenced in July 2025, with the boost.ai AI agent successfully deployed to The AA’s web channel within 30 calendar days of the project launch. This was followed by integration into WhatsApp in August. Initial results have been promising, with the AI agent achieving accuracy rates over 90% and containment rates exceeding 45%, significantly reducing the need for escalation to human agents. These figures align with boost.ai’s consistent global resolution rate of over 90%.
