This AI tool can quickly parse through an immense volume of maintenance documentation, reportedly over 60,000 pages, to deliver precise and concise answers to technicians’ queries. This capability has led to a remarkable reduction in troubleshooting time, with tasks that previously took up to 20 minutes now being completed in just one to two minutes. This efficiency gain directly translates to minimizing the time aircraft spend under maintenance, ultimately leading to higher customer satisfaction.
Beyond immediate troubleshooting, Textron Aviation is utilizing its private AI assistant and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) tools to support more complex tasks, including the diagnosis and repair of aircraft damage. The company is also committed to empowering its internal teams, hosting ‘GenAI Days’ to train employees on how to leverage the AI platform’s tools to develop solutions that generate tangible business impact, such as cost savings and new revenue streams.
This strategic move is not just about current gains; Textron Aviation is actively exploring ways to integrate generative AI across its broader manufacturing divisions.
