TLDR: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is strategically expanding its AI-driven operations in Latin America and India, inaugurating a new AI-enhanced center in Mexico City and aligning its Indian initiatives with the ‘Digital India’ vision. This expansion aims to foster digital transformation, create employment, and drive long-term value in key emerging markets.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, is significantly enhancing its global presence with a strategic focus on AI-driven operations in Latin America and India. This expansion underscores the company’s commitment to accelerating innovation, fostering digital transformation, and creating long-term value in these dynamic emerging markets.
In Latin America, TCS has inaugurated a new AI-driven operations center in Mexico City, marking its eighth facility in Mexico. This state-of-the-art center is designed to be a hub of innovation, housing a specialized workforce of AI specialists and software engineers proficient in emerging enterprise technologies. The facility will offer a comprehensive suite of solutions from TCS’s portfolio, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), IT infrastructure, application development, and cognitive business operations. This strategic move is a cornerstone of TCS’s growth strategy in Latin America and is projected to generate substantial employment opportunities within Mexico over the next two years. Rajeev Gupta, Head-Nearshore LATAM and Country Head – Mexico, TCS, stated, “This launch is a milestone in our journey of delivering cutting-edge solutions for customers in Mexico. It reflects our commitment to nurturing local talent, supporting Mexico’s digital ecosystem, and positioning the country as a hub for innovation and transformation.” Marcelo Wurmann, CEO – Latin America, TCS, added, “Mexico is a key pillar of our growth in Latin America. With this new centre, we aim to continue helping clients address complex challenges while accelerating their digital transformation.” The Mexican Economy Secretary, Marcelo Ebrard, also acknowledged the strengthening relationship between Mexico and India, citing TCS’s expansion as a clear example.
Concurrently, TCS is deepening its AI and cloud initiatives in India, aligning closely with the Indian government’s ambitious ‘Digital India’ vision. A notable development in this regard is the launch of TCS SovereignSecure Cloud in 2025. This fully indigenous cloud platform, built on a robust zero-trust architecture and hosted in Mumbai and Hyderabad, is designed to ensure data sovereignty while integrating advanced AI capabilities for real-time governance and analytics. This initiative addresses both national and global digital transformation needs.

A critical component of TCS’s dual-track expansion strategy is its significant investment in talent development. The company has already trained over 114,000 associates in higher-order AI skills and plans to award 40,000 Google Cloud Generative AI skill badges in 2025. This proactive approach to upskilling is vital for addressing talent shortages and scaling AI adoption across emerging markets. The impact of TCS’s AI solutions is already evident; for instance, in Brazil, AI solutions provided by TCS reportedly led to a 50% reduction in costs for Weatherford and facilitated the expansion of operations with 3,000 new hires at an AI-focused delivery center in Londrina. For investors, TCS’s robust performance, marked by a 17.3% growth in Latin America and $9.4 billion in AI/cloud revenue from India, positions it as a compelling high-conviction play in the emerging market technology sector.
