SymphonyAI Enhances Industrial Operations with Microsoft Teams and Copilot Integration

TLDR: SymphonyAI has announced a significant integration of its Iris Foundry platform with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot. This collaboration aims to empower frontline workers in manufacturing and energy sectors by embedding AI-driven insights and automated workflows directly into their daily collaboration tools, facilitating faster decision-making and increased operational efficiency.

Palo Alto, Calif. – September 16, 2025 – SymphonyAI, a leading enterprise AI company, today unveiled a strategic integration of its Iris Foundry platform with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot. This new offering, dubbed ‘IRIS Foundry for Microsoft Teams,’ is designed to revolutionize operations and empower frontline teams within the manufacturing and energy industries by bringing advanced industrial AI directly into their existing collaboration environments.

The integration leverages the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to seamlessly embed Iris Foundry’s AI-driven intelligence into Microsoft’s widely used platforms. This allows industrial workers, plant operators, and frontline personnel to access real-time operational visibility, trigger automated workflows, and gain AI-driven insights without ever leaving Microsoft Teams.

Key functionalities of this integration include the ability for users to ask plain-language questions in Microsoft 365 Copilot, such as ‘Show me recent heat exchanger anomalies at Plant 7,’ and instantly receive visual summaries within Teams. Furthermore, teams can initiate automated workflows for tasks like maintenance, adjusting parameters, or escalating alerts directly from Teams. The solution also enables companies to customize domain-specific AI assistants using Microsoft Copilot Studio, tailoring the AI to specific plant KPIs, workflows, and compliance requirements.

Kumar Abhimanyu, Senior Vice President & Global Head of Strategic Partnerships at SymphonyAI, emphasized the transformative potential of this collaboration. “By integrating IRIS Foundry with Microsoft Teams and Copilot, we’re transforming daily collaboration into a launchpad for real-time, AI-driven action,” said Abhimanyu. “This deepens our integration with Microsoft in a meaningful way—combining their trusted platforms with our industrial AI to help customers accelerate decisions, boost efficiency, and realize tangible business impact.”

Prateek Kathpal, President of SymphonyAI Industrial, highlighted the practical benefits for industrial environments. “Manufacturing and energy companies need more than analytics—they need AI that acts instantly, where work happens,” Kathpal stated. “By integrating IRIS Foundry with Microsoft Teams and Copilot, we’re putting real-time intelligence and automation in the hands of frontline workers, creating resilience and efficiency across operations.”

Dayan Rodriguez, Corporate Vice President of Manufacturing and Mobility at Microsoft, echoed this sentiment, noting, “Integrating Iris Foundry with Microsoft Teams and Copilot puts real-time insights and AI-driven workflows right where frontline teams work, helping them solve problems faster and keep operations running smoothly.”

The integration is specifically optimized for the complex demands of manufacturing and energy companies, addressing the common challenge of time wasted switching between disparate systems like maintenance systems, data historians, and analytics dashboards. Iris Foundry’s MCP Server unifies complex data, turning raw information into meaningful context linked to assets, processes, and events, and leverages a Knowledge Graph and Cortex AI—Iris Foundry’s proprietary AI engine—for intelligent reasoning and search.
