Sphinx AI Launches Agentic Co-pilots to Transform Data Science Workflows

New York, NY – November 2, 2025 – Sphinx AI has announced its emergence from stealth mode, unveiling a groundbreaking agentic co-pilot platform poised to redefine data science. The company, which recently secured $9.5 million in seed funding, is focused on empowering data scientists with advanced AI assistance to navigate and solve complex real-world problems more efficiently.

The Sphinx AI co-pilot is engineered to integrate seamlessly into existing data science environments, such as Jupyter notebooks and VS Code. Unlike many current AI copilots that primarily cater to software developers, Sphinx AI’s solution is tailored to the unique demands of data professionals. It leverages a variety of sophisticated AI and machine learning models, including advanced reasoning models and GPT-4 models from OpenAI, to assist with a broad spectrum of data-oriented tasks.

Key functionalities of the Sphinx AI co-pilot include refining raw data, verifying the integrity and performance of AI models, and grounding responses with factual data. The system is designed to run entirely on the user’s local system, offering enhanced privacy and the ability to ‘learn’ and adapt as the user interacts with it. For instance, the co-pilot can invoke classic clustering algorithms for statistical analysis and then utilize large language models (LLMs) to generate clear, human-understandable explanations of the results. It can also combine image models with statistical models to identify issues within data visualizations and then employ generative AI (GenAI) to explain where the underlying code might be flawed.

Rohan Kodialam, CEO and co-founder of Sphinx AI, highlighted the company’s vision, stating, ‘AI is driving a paradigm shift for natural language and code, but traditional data has been left behind. The $9.5 million seed funding round was led by Lightspeed, with significant participation from prominent investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, Box Group, K5, and Impatient VC. Individual backers such as Steve Cohen, Naveen Rao, and leaders from Databricks also contributed. Bucky Moore, a partner at Lightspeed, commented on the investment, noting that ‘Sphinx brings frontier AI capabilities to data analysis and redefines how AI reasons with data. It’s more critical than ever for enterprises to glean key information from their data to fuel business decisions and Sphinx enables this at record speed.’
