TLDR: Skynet, a decentralized protocol, has raised $1.2 million in pre-seed funding to develop “The World’s Resource Blockchain™.” This initiative aims to enable AI agents to autonomously access global resources, execute payments, and perform real-world tasks, addressing current limitations in AI agent functionality and paving the way for a new “Agent Economy.”
Skynet, a pioneering decentralized protocol, is making significant strides in the realm of artificial intelligence by building an infrastructure that allows AI agents to seamlessly interact with the real world. The company recently announced it has secured $1.2 million in pre-seed funding, with contributions from angel investors associated with prominent tech entities such as GitHub, Polygon, Veracode, and Monotype.
Founded by Vishnu Korde, Skynet is developing “The World’s Resource Blockchain™,” a decentralized network designed to overcome the current limitations faced by AI agents. While major corporations like Google are introducing AI initiatives, existing AI agents often struggle to perform meaningful real-world actions due to fragmented systems, lack of access to financial instruments, and complex onboarding requirements like API keys, OAuth credentials, and KYC verification, which typically demand human intervention.
Skynet’s solution, built on Arbitrum Orbit, introduces “Smart Access Points.” These innovative components translate complex natural language prompts from AI agents into seamless API interactions with both Web2 and Web3 services. This enables AI agents to autonomously engage with a wide array of global services, including Booking.com, Amazon Web Services (AWS), StackAI, and Shopify, without the need for manual oversight.
Key features of Skynet’s protocol emphasize autonomy, privacy, and frictionless transactions. Unlike traditional big-tech solutions, Skynet prioritizes user control and privacy by not monetizing or tracking user data. It employs segregated agent wallets and KYC features to ensure security and transparency. Furthermore, it facilitates frictionless payments by supporting fiat, stablecoins, and cross-chain tokens, eliminating traditional payment complexities and fostering broader Web3 adoption.
Vishnu Korde, Founder and CEO of Skynet, articulated the company’s vision, stating, “Businesses today are designing for human users, but the next big wave is designing for AI agents.” He emphasized that Skynet’s resource blockchain empowers agents to access services, execute payments, and engage with applications that would typically require human intervention.
Industry leaders echo this sentiment. Ravikant Agrawal, Director of Growth at Polygon Labs, commented on the burgeoning AI landscape, noting, “The AI ‘bull market’ is just beginning, and its growth will outlast any crypto market cycle.” He added that “Skynet is purpose-built to enable AI agents to perform real-world actions, a necessity that will only grow as the agent economy accelerates over the next decade.” Venkat Yetrintala, Chief Technology Officer at Monotype, also praised the initiative, stating, “Skynet is laying the groundwork for a future where AI agents can interact easily with resources across the globe.”

Looking ahead, Korde predicts a transformative shift, anticipating that by 2030, there could be as many AI agents as humans on the planet, acting as proxies on behalf of individuals. Skynet aims to be at the forefront of this “Agent Economy,” providing the essential infrastructure for AI agents to unlock their full potential, benefiting both consumers and businesses alike.
