SINGAPORE – The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) has introduced a groundbreaking innovation in global trade, unveiling the world’s first generative AI tool specifically designed for trade advisory. Named the Trade AI Advisor (TAIA), this pioneering solution was launched by SBF’s Centre for the Future of Trade and Investment (CFOTI) on September 9, 2025. The announcement took place at a seminar titled “Navigating US Tariff: Adapt and Advance,” held at the Orchard Hotel Singapore, which drew nearly 600 business leaders, policymakers, and trade experts. Dignitaries present included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, and Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance Jeffrey Siow.
The TAIA is engineered to provide the Singaporean business community with clear, actionable guidance on intricate trade rules, free trade agreements (FTAs), tariffs, and compliance requirements, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in a volatile global trade landscape. The tool is powered by “trusted sources” and leverages SBF’s extensive database of FTAs, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of its advice.
In conjunction with the TAIA launch, CFOTI also announced significant partnerships with six prominent organizations: DBS Bank Ltd, DHL Express (Singapore), Pacific International Lines, PwC Singapore, Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP, and Temasek Foundation. These collaborations are aimed at strengthening regional trade and investment connectivity, building enterprise capabilities, and co-developing practical solutions to address the challenges posed by today’s turbulent global trade environment.

The introduction of TAIA aligns with SBF’s broader commitment to helping businesses integrate AI solutions to streamline operations, automate content creation, optimize processes, and improve customer experiences, as highlighted in their initiatives to foster AI adoption across various sectors.
