Caddie’s primary objective is to accelerate the hiring process by automating the initial stages of recruitment, such as sifting through numerous resumes, conducting screening calls, and tracking candidates.
Thompson highlighted that Caddie helps employers filter out “easy-AI applications” that are entirely AI-generated. With several new laws coming into effect in January, including a requirement to follow up with candidates after 45 days, salary disclosure, and the retention of hiring records for three years, Caddie aims to provide businesses with a quick and easy solution for compliance. Businesses can integrate the platform via a QR code or link it to their Indeed web page.
Beyond its practical applications in recruitment, Caddie also indirectly addresses the pervasive issue of “imposter syndrome,” a challenge Thompson openly acknowledges facing as a young entrepreneur in the AI domain. She noted, “As a young entrepreneur, and somebody in AI, there is a lot of imposter syndrome. A lot of the people I am working with are older men who have been working in AI and technology for a really long time. This just helped keep us going on our mission. It was nice to be recognized, and I was among a lot of really cool women who are doing a lot of research.”

Thompson views AI not as a daunting concept but as a powerful tool that can simplify lives, particularly in business. She asserted, “It is really one of the greatest tools that we could be using right now.” The development of the newest version of Caddie itself heavily utilized AI, enabling the software to quickly identify bugs, security risks, or broken code.
