Siemens and Capgemini Forge Alliance for AI-Native Industrial Transformation

TLDR: Siemens and Capgemini have expanded their long-standing partnership to co-develop AI-native digital solutions, aiming to revolutionize product engineering, manufacturing, and industrial operations. The collaboration focuses on embedding artificial intelligence directly into industrial solutions to enhance efficiency, accelerate time-to-market, improve quality, and boost sustainability across various sectors.

Global technology leaders Siemens and Capgemini have announced a significant expansion of their strategic partnership, focusing on the co-development of AI-native digital solutions to transform industrial operations. This collaboration aims to embed artificial intelligence at the core of industrial processes from inception, rather than integrating it as an afterthought, to drive measurable improvements in production efficiency, time-to-market, product quality, and sustainability.

The enhanced alliance targets 16 high-impact industrial domains, leveraging Siemens’ extensive expertise in industrial software, automation, electrification, and sustainability, combined with Capgemini’s strengths in engineering knowledge and digital business transformation. This integrated approach is designed to help clients navigate the complexities of digital transformation, particularly in bridging the gap between IT and operational technology (OT) systems through frontier technologies like industrial AI, digital twins, and next-generation automation.

Cedrik Neike, CEO of Digital Industries and Member of the Managing Board at Siemens AG, emphasized the synergy, stating, “For our customers, Capgemini is like a compass – deeply familiar with their challenges and ambitions. Siemens provides the engine: Technologies like industrial AI, digital twins, and automation. Together, we guide our customers through their digital transformation with speed and precision.”

Aiman Ezzat, CEO of the Capgemini Group, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the shared commitment: “By combining our strengths, our ambition is to help clients navigate complexity and realize tangible business impact, setting new benchmarks for operational efficiency. This strengthened partnership underscores our shared commitment to industrial AI and intelligent manufacturing.”

The partnership has already demonstrated tangible results across major global industries. For instance, in the aerospace sector, Siemens and Capgemini are assisting Airbus in its decarbonization goals, aiming for a 20% reduction in energy consumption and an 85% cut in emissions by 2030 through the deployment of digital energy system twins. In pharmaceuticals, their collaboration with Sanofi involves implementing AI-powered Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to digitize production records, which has led to a 70% reduction in review time and an 80% decrease in deviations. Furthermore, with GravitHy, a French iron company, the partners are optimizing hydrogen production through digitalized industrial workflows, targeting a 10% reduction in production costs.
