TLDR: Serco Asia Pacific has dramatically enhanced its integration processes and accelerated project delivery by adopting Boomi’s AI Agents, including Boomi Scribe and DesignGen. This strategic move has significantly reduced documentation time and empowered business users, leading to substantial efficiency gains across its diverse public services operations.
SYDNEY – Serco Asia Pacific, a leading global public services provider, has announced a significant leap in its operational efficiency and integration capabilities through the strategic deployment of Boomi’s AI Agents. This initiative, leveraging the Boomi Enterprise Platform, aims to unlock rapid innovation, accelerate integration development, and empower business users to build foundational integrations with unprecedented speed. Serco’s operations in the Asia Pacific region encompass critical sectors such as defence, healthcare, justice, and community services, serving governments worldwide.
The company’s adoption of Boomi’s AI-driven automation tools, specifically Boomi Scribe and Boomi DesignGen, has led to a remarkable reduction in the time required for integration documentation and overall project completion. Kiran Narayan, Director of Products and Digital Capabilities at Serco, highlighted a pivotal moment at last year’s Boomi World Tour Sydney. “We’ve always used Boomi for core integration, but what we uncovered at last year’s Boomi World Tour Sydney completely reframed what’s possible,” said Narayan. “We realised that powerful Boomi AI agents like Boomi Scribe and Boomi DesignGen were already sitting within our Boomi Enterprise Platform license. Within minutes, we were experimenting with them live. That moment kickstarted a brand new way of thinking and working.”
Following this discovery, Serco rapidly mobilized its integration team to test and deploy these AI agents. Boomi Scribe has been instrumental in creating understandable documentation for integrations, while Boomi DesignGen facilitates clearer communication between teams through visual aids, fostering greater stakeholder trust. The impact on efficiency has been substantial. Narayan noted, “Previously, it would take an integration developer around two or three hours to write up a document formatted in a way customers understand. With Boomi Scribe, it takes 10 to 15 minutes.”
Furthermore, Serco has seen a dramatic reduction in overall integration project documentation time, which previously consumed 40 to 60 hours, now averaging just 6 to 12 hours with the help of Boomi AI Agents. This translates to project times being halved. The Boomi platform was chosen for its low-code friendliness, ease of use, and the speed with which integrations can be built and monitored.
This integration enhancement follows Serco APAC’s transition of its integration workloads from self-hosted Boomi runtime clusters to Boomi Managed Cloud Service (MCS). Plans are also underway to activate Boomi Event Streams for real-time data flow and alerting. Kiran Narayan’s vision is to enable business leaders to utilize Boomi for first-draft integrations, thereby speeding up delivery and allowing technical teams to concentrate on more complex tasks.
