TLDR: Cybersecurity leader SentinelOne has announced its definitive agreement to acquire Prompt Security, a pioneer in AI runtime security. This strategic move aims to enhance SentinelOne’s Singularity Platform by providing comprehensive protection against AI-related data leakage, prompt injection, and other risks associated with the growing adoption of generative and agentic AI in enterprises.
In a significant development for the cybersecurity landscape, SentinelOne (NYSE: S), a leading AI-native cybersecurity firm, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Prompt Security, an innovative company specializing in securing artificial intelligence at runtime. This acquisition underscores the accelerating ‘land grab’ in the AI security sector, as businesses rapidly integrate generative AI (GenAI) and agentic AI into their operations.
Prompt Security, based in Tel Aviv, Israel, has developed a unique platform designed to address the inherent security challenges of AI adoption. Its technology provides enterprises with immediate visibility into all GenAI usage, enabling them to secure and control employee interactions with AI tools, and effectively mitigate ‘shadow AI’ risks. The platform integrates seamlessly across browsers, desktop applications, and APIs, offering robust observability, policy-based enforcement, and automated protection against critical threats such as prompt injection, sensitive data leakage, and misuse of AI applications. This includes popular large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, as well as custom-built AI solutions.
For SentinelOne, this acquisition is a strategic expansion of its AI-native Singularityâ„¢ Platform. The integration of Prompt Security’s capabilities will allow SentinelOne to deliver a more comprehensive approach to securing AI across the modern enterprise, from infrastructure to end-user interaction. The combined offering aims to empower Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and IT leaders with the necessary controls to facilitate safe and scalable AI adoption, without hindering innovation or productivity gains.
While specific financial terms of the deal were not officially disclosed by SentinelOne, industry reports, including one by Globes, suggest the acquisition values Prompt Security at an estimated $250 million to $300 million. The transaction is anticipated to conclude in SentinelOne’s third fiscal quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
Commenting on the acquisition, Tomer Weingarten, CEO of SentinelOne, stated, ‘AI is the most transformative force in the world today—but without security, it becomes a liability. With Prompt Security, we’re making it possible for every company to fully embrace GenAI and agentic AI without compromising safety and security.’ This sentiment was echoed by Itamar Golan, CEO and co-founder of Prompt Security, who noted, ‘As enterprise adoption of GenAI and agentic AI accelerates, the security and privacy risks are rapidly shifting from theoretical to operational.’
