TLDR: Scrunch AI has successfully raised $15 million in Series A funding, bringing its total capital to $19 million. The investment, led by Decibel, aims to empower brands to optimize their presence and visibility within the rapidly evolving AI search and large language model (LLM) environments, addressing a critical shift in how consumers discover information and products.
San Francisco-based Scrunch AI, an innovative startup focused on AI-native marketing, has announced the successful closure of a $15 million Series A funding round. This latest investment, spearheaded by Decibel, with significant contributions from Mayfield, Homebrew, and notable strategic investors including TJ Parker (PillPack co-founder), Bryant Chou (Webflow co-founder), and Clara Shih (Meta AI), elevates the company’s total funding to $19 million.
The capital infusion is earmarked to accelerate the development of Scrunch AI’s Agent Experience Platform, which is designed to help brands navigate the seismic shift in digital discovery. Co-founded by seasoned SaaS product leader Chris Andrew, Scrunch AI spent two years operating in stealth mode, collaborating closely with enterprise clients to understand the profound impact of AI on the customer journey. The company publicly launched in November 2024.
Scrunch AI addresses what CEO Chris Andrew describes as ‘the greatest visibility crisis brands have faced since the dawn of the internet.’ As large language models and AI agents increasingly become the primary gatekeepers of online information, traditional SEO strategies are proving insufficient. Many meticulously crafted corporate websites, despite significant investment, are becoming ‘invisible’ to these new AI-driven discovery tools.
The company’s platform provides brands with crucial insights into their performance in AI search results, identifies content gaps, and offers guidance on restructuring websites to ensure their content is correctly interpreted and ranked by AI agents. This new discipline, often referred to as ‘Generative Engine Optimization’ (GEO), is becoming an existential necessity for companies whose digital presence is their primary connection to customers.
Since its public launch, Scrunch AI has demonstrated impressive growth, expanding its paying customer base by over 50% month-over-month in just three months. More than 500 brands, including industry leaders like Lenovo, BairesDev, Crunchbase, Fictiv, and top financial institutions, now rely on Scrunch AI to enhance their visibility across AI-driven discovery platforms.

The funding announcement underscores the explosive growth of the ‘AI search economy.’ Industry analysts project the global AI search engines market, currently valued at approximately $43.6 billion, to reach $108.9 billion by 2032, exhibiting a compound annual growth rate of 14.1%. Furthermore, U.S. advertising spend on AI-driven search, which was virtually non-existent two years ago, is forecast to surge from over $1 billion in 2025 to nearly $26 billion by 2029. Scrunch AI aims not just to keep pace with this transformation but to define the infrastructure for AI-native marketing.
