HONG KONG SAR – Samsung Electronics HK. Co. Ltd., a global leader in technology, officially announced the commencement of its highly anticipated annual inter-school technology competition, ‘Solve for Tomorrow 2025-2026’, on September 30, 2025. This year’s iteration places a significant emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI), inviting Hong Kong’s young minds to innovate and address pressing social and environmental challenges.

The competition is structured around two specially designated themes: ‘Environmental Sustainability via Technology’ and ‘Social Change through Sport & Tech’. Students are encouraged to utilize AI and other advanced technologies, combined with their creativity, to devise solutions that contribute to a better society. This aligns with Samsung’s broader commitment to improving daily lives through AI innovations, from Galaxy AI in mobile devices to advanced AI functionalities in home appliances, embodying the company’s ‘AI for All’ vision.

Ms. Yiyin Zhao, Managing Director of Samsung Electronics HK. Co. Ltd., highlighted the rapid advancements in AI, stating, “As AI development continues to accelerate and unlock endless opportunities for technological innovation, we hope to leverage Solve for Tomorrow to inspire young generations to harness AI with their boundless creativity, developing innovative solutions to address various social issues and build a brighter future.” She further elaborated on the chosen themes, noting that ‘Environmental Sustainability via Technology’ aims to guide students in considering technology’s positive impact on the planet, particularly through circular economy initiatives. The ‘Social Change through Sport & Tech’ theme, inspired by Samsung’s partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, seeks to promote physical and mental well-being, inclusivity, and community welfare through technological integration with sports.

The ‘Solve for Tomorrow 2025-2026’ competition welcomes teams from primary schools, secondary schools, and tertiary institutions. It features a robust three-stage process: an initial concept proposal submission (due by November 7, 2025), followed by an intermediate round for selected teams to develop prototypes with mentorship, and culminating in a final presentation in April 2026. The program offers substantial prizes and awards, totaling over HKD 300,000, including internship opportunities at Samsung for tertiary group champions and work experience for secondary group winners, in response to the Education Bureau’s ‘Business-School Partnership Programme’.
