TLDR: Salesforce has introduced a suite of new data and AI tools, including Data Cloud enhancements, MuleSoft Agent Fabric, and Agentforce Vibes, designed to address critical governance, security, and compliance gaps in the rapidly expanding field of agentic AI. These innovations aim to build trust and enable enterprises to scale AI agents reliably across their operations.
San Francisco, October 3, 2025 – Salesforce today announced a significant expansion of its data, governance, security, and semantics capabilities, reinforcing its commitment to fostering trust and reliability in artificial intelligence, particularly within the burgeoning domain of agentic AI. The move comes as businesses grapple with the complexities of AI deployment, with studies indicating that over 80% of AI projects fail to deliver value, often due to poor data quality, weak governance, and fragmented integration.
At the core of Salesforce’s latest offerings are several platform-wide capabilities designed to help enterprises confidently scale agentic AI across their workflows. A key highlight is Data Cloud Context Indexing, a new pipeline within Salesforce Data Cloud. This innovation empowers AI agents to interpret unstructured content—such as contracts, diagrams, and tables—through a business-aware lens, facilitating the extraction of precise details from vast, disconnected information and accelerating accurate responses.
Further enhancing data integrity and collaboration, Salesforce introduced Data Cloud Clean Rooms. These allow companies to securely share, collaborate on, and analyze data to unlock intelligent insights without the need to move or expose raw, sensitive information. Complementing these data-centric tools are embedded AI security and compliance features across the Salesforce Platform, streamlining the maintenance of robust security and compliance postures. These capabilities include integrations with leading security providers like CrowdStrike and Okta for advanced threat identification and compliance management.
Addressing the growing challenge of ‘agent sprawl,’ Salesforce unveiled MuleSoft Agent Fabric, a platform positioned as the backbone of the Agentic Enterprise. This solution acts as a central hub to register, orchestrate, govern, and monitor every AI agent, regardless of its origin. MuleSoft Agent Fabric is built on four core pillars: a Registry for discoverability and reusability, a Broker powered by large language models for cross-domain task execution, robust Governance for security and regulatory compliance, and a Visualizer for real-time monitoring of agent activity and decision tracing. Analyst forecasts predict a 327% surge in agent adoption within two years, underscoring the critical need for such orchestration tools.
In the realm of AI-powered software development, Salesforce launched Agentforce Vibes and Vibe Codey. Agentforce Vibes is an AI-powered integrated development environment (IDE) designed to assist in building, debugging, testing, and deploying applications and agents, featuring built-in, enterprise-grade security and governance controls. Vibe Codey, an autonomous AI agent, collaborates with users as a ‘second programmer,’ understanding project context and executing tasks to accelerate development, particularly useful for rapid prototyping and conversational refactoring.
“Data governance is a top concern for every organization deploying AI because of the difficult and complex regulatory landscape,” stated Alice Steinglass, EVP and GM for Salesforce Platform. “Salesforce’s Data Governance for the AI Enterprise suite will help companies address those challenges head-on.” Dan Fernandez, VP of product management for developer services at Salesforce, added regarding Agentforce Vibes, “Unlike ‘traditional’ vibe coding tools, Agentforce Vibes provides built-in, enterprise-grade security and governance controls.”

Looking ahead, Salesforce’s planned acquisition of Informatica is set to further bolster its capabilities by integrating Informatica’s data catalog, integration, governance, quality, privacy, and Master Data Management (MDM) functionalities into the Salesforce Platform, aiming to create a unified data architecture essential for agentic AI at scale. These comprehensive announcements underscore Salesforce’s strategic vision to enable enterprises to harness the full potential of AI agents responsibly and effectively.
