Sage Unveils Advanced AI Agents and Cloud Platform to Revolutionize Finance Operations

TLDR: Sage has launched a suite of new AI agents and an enhanced cloud platform, including the Sage Intacct Finance Intelligence Agent, designed to significantly boost the efficiency, accuracy, and strategic capabilities of finance teams in mid-sized organizations. These innovations aim to automate routine tasks, provide real-time insights, and empower CFOs with data-driven decision-making.

Sage (FTSE: SGE), a leading provider of accounting, financial, HR, and payroll technology, has announced a significant leap forward in finance automation with the introduction of new AI-driven solutions and an expanded cloud platform. Unveiled around November 4-7, 2025, these innovations are specifically tailored to enhance the productivity and strategic impact of finance teams within mid-sized organizations and their partners.

At the forefront of this launch is the Sage Intacct Finance Intelligence Agent, a pivotal addition to Sage’s growing network of AI agents. This agent functions as an intelligent layer, capable of processing natural language queries, directing them to relevant AI agents and financial data sources, and then synthesizing actionable responses. This capability is designed to drastically reduce the time finance professionals spend on searching for reports and analyzing data, thereby accelerating decision-making and automating manual processes.

The Finance Intelligence Agent joins an existing family of specialized AI agents, including the Close Agent, Accounts Payable Agent, Assurance Agent, and Time Agent. These digital assistants are embedded directly into Sage Intacct, offering finance-specific automation for tasks such as handling routine operations, automating project time capture, flagging potential issues, checking for duplicates, and correcting data entry errors. Sage CEO Steve Hare emphasized the proactive nature of these tools, stating, “It’s incredibly important that we give finance teams technology that doesn’t just respond to requests, but works alongside them proactively, and that’s what we are achieving with our Agents.” He added, “With our AI Agents, we are helping teams save time, surface insights faster, and perform at their best. It’s about giving finance leaders more confidence in their numbers and the freedom to guide the business. This is authentic, finance-first AI that empowers high-performing teams and equips them with transparent, accurate, and audit-ready insights.”

Further bolstering its ecosystem, Sage also introduced AI Developer Solutions, marking a significant milestone in how partners and independent software vendors can innovate on the Sage platform. This initiative enables partners to build and deploy certified AI agents and specialized AI workflows directly into the Sage Copilot experience. Aaron Harris, Chief Technology Officer at Sage, commented, “This is the next step in Sage’s platform journey. We are giving our partners the ability to build with Sage intelligence at their core. Together we can accelerate innovation for millions of small and midsized businesses, bringing AI agents out of the lab and into the real workflows where they’ll make the biggest impact.” The Sage AI Gateway, built on Model Context Protocol servers and REST APIs, forms the secure and governed ecosystem for these partner-led innovations.

In parallel, Sage unveiled the next evolution of Sage X3, delivered as a fully managed cloud service. This next-gen Sage X3 integrates seamlessly with Sage AI and Sage Copilot, providing users with AI-powered assistance, including new Sales Insights and a Copilot Chat experience for direct in-workflow queries. Dan Miller, EVP at Sage, highlighted the benefits: “It strips away the burden of system maintenance while preserving the powerful configurability that makes Sage X3 stand out. By combining cloud, our partners’ deep industry knowledge, Copilot, and future AI Agents, we’re helping businesses save time, move faster, adapt, and focus on what really drives growth.”
