Vancouver, Canada – Rival Technologies, a prominent conversational research specialist and part of the recently formed Rival Group, has announced a suite of product enhancements designed to modernize market research processes through advanced AI and mobile-first approaches. These upgrades follow the company’s merger in May with Reach3 Insights and the Angus Reid Group, forming the Rival Group with projected revenues exceeding $60 million and operations across five US and Canadian cities.
The core of the new offerings lies in Rival Technologies’ expanded artificial intelligence capabilities. A significant introduction is the Unstructured Data Agent (UDA), a tool engineered to convert open-ended survey feedback into actionable insights, seamlessly integrating scalable qualitative analysis within quantitative workflows. This builds upon the Multi-Agent AI Framework released earlier this year, a modular system of AI Agents designed to support the entire research process.
Further AI-driven features include an Authoring Assistant pilot and AI Smart Probe, which facilitate the creation of conversational chat surveys by offering tone suggestions and intelligent follow-up questions. A proprietary ‘Thoughtfulness Score’ has also been introduced, evaluating open-ended responses across video, voice, and text based on criteria such as relevance, clarity, and emotional depth.
Beyond AI, Rival Technologies has enhanced its platform with new integrations and administrative tools. These include Pinterest Pixel Tracking, complementing existing integrations with Meta, Reddit, and Taboola, and expanding recruitment capabilities through QR codes, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and branded websites and apps. Early access support for WhatsApp as a distribution channel has been added, alongside SMS and email.
Back-end upgrades feature advanced filtering and sampling logic, a real-time Community Health Dashboard providing insights into subscription trends, engagement rates, demographics, and active participation, as well as improved member management tools and survey distribution via external platforms.

Andrew Reid, founder and chief executive at Rival Technologies, emphasized the practical impact of these updates, stating, “These updates are about giving insight teams what they actually need right now. Smarter recruitment, easier community management, new distribution channels, AI that actually saves you time and respects the participant experience. We’re building tools that help researchers move faster and dig deeper, without losing what makes this work human.” The company asserts that these innovations reflect its commitment to practical innovation, streamlining the entire research lifecycle from participant recruitment and community management to survey distribution and analysis across quant, qual, and video responses.
