TLDR: iThink Logistics has launched India’s first AI-powered Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) platform, designed to simplify cross-border e-commerce for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). This new tool provides upfront, all-inclusive international shipping rates, covering freight, duties, and taxes, thereby eliminating cost unpredictability and enhancing the global competitiveness of Indian exporters.
Mumbai-based logistics technology firm iThink Logistics (ITL) has unveiled a groundbreaking AI-powered Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) platform, marking India’s first such solution specifically tailored for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). Launched on September 16-17, 2025, this innovative platform is set to transform cross-border e-commerce for Indian exporters by introducing unprecedented transparency and predictability in international shipping.
The new DDP platform offers several key features designed to empower SMEs. It provides all-inclusive international shipping rates upfront, covering freight, duties, and taxes. This eliminates hidden costs and reduces post-purchase friction for customers, ensuring a smoother transaction process. The solution delivers end-to-end predictability in cross-border shipping, combining enterprise-grade compliance infrastructure with an affordability model suited for SMEs. Exporters will benefit from real-time, country-specific duty and tax estimates that dynamically adapt to regulatory changes across crucial markets such as the US and EU, including recent tariff developments. Furthermore, by removing the need for customers to pay duties upon delivery, the platform significantly enhances the overall cross-border buyer experience. The DDP model is seamlessly integrated into ITL’s existing booking dashboard and APIs, offering compatibility with major e-commerce platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, Etsy, and various custom storefronts.
At the heart of this advanced solution is an AI-driven Duty and Tax Classification Engine. This powerful engine leverages generative AI, which has been extensively trained on vast global customs data. It automatically classifies millions of Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) to their correct Harmonised System of Nomenclature (HSN) codes based on product titles, descriptions, and images. This sophisticated capability ensures unparalleled accuracy and compliance within the highly regulated global trade environment. The engine is also built to scale, efficiently supporting growing e-commerce catalogs with automated, accurate, and compliant international shipping processes.
Zaiba Sarang, co-founder of iThink Logistics, highlighted the significance of this launch, stating, “Indian SMEs have long been underserved by solutions built primarily for large exporters. Our DDP platform and AI-powered duty engine equip SMEs to compete confidently on the global stage, eliminating cost unpredictability, reducing shipping friction, and mitigating compliance risks throughout their growth journey.” She further emphasized the evolving landscape of global trade, adding that “with global supply chains becoming increasingly regulated, compliance and transparency are no longer optional but essential.”
