Retailers Association of India Convenes ReTechCon 2025: Charting the Future of Retail Through Technology and AI in Mumbai

Mumbai, India – The Retailers Association of India (RAI) successfully concluded its 19th edition of the Retail Technology Conclave, ReTechCon 2025, held on September 24-25, 2025, at the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar. This premier forum brought together over 1,200 delegates, 150 speakers, 800 brands, and 60 partners to delve into the evolving landscape of retail technology and its future trajectory.

The conclave served as a critical platform for CEOs, CIOs, technology partners, and industry leaders to explore emerging trends and transformative innovations. Key discussions spanned a wide array of topics crucial for retail transformation, including the development of smart stores, enabling digital-first customer journeys, navigating omnichannel strategies, and ensuring supply chain resilience.

A central theme of ReTechCon 2025 was the disruptive potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and advanced analytics. Sessions explored how these technologies are redefining consumer behavior and brand engagement through personalization, immersive technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), and next-generation MarTech tools. The event also addressed vital imperatives such as data security, privacy, and future-ready payment systems.

A significant highlight of the conclave was the launch of Deloitte India’s latest report, ‘AI in Retail for the Agentic Era: Aspiration to action’. This report underscored AI’s role as a strategic backbone for retail, moving beyond pilot experiments to full-scale adoption across the entire retail value chain.

Anand Ramanathan, Partner and Consumer Industry Leader, Deloitte India, commented on India’s leadership in AI-led retail transformation, stating, ‘India is at the forefront of the AI-led transformation in retail with India’s AI spending set to triple, rising from US$7–8 billion in FY23 to US$20–22 billion by FY27.’

Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, Retailers Association of India (RAI), emphasized the shift in focus, stating, ‘At ReTechCon 2025, we are moving the retail conversation from possibilities to priorities. It’s about knowing where to begin with technology adoption and what to scale for sustainable growth. AI is no longer an experiment. It is the game-changer delivering measurable value across the chain.’
