Redis Bolsters AI Strategy with Decodable Acquisition and LangCache Launch, Emphasizing India’s Pivotal Role

TLDR: Redis, a leading data platform, has significantly expanded its artificial intelligence strategy, announcing the acquisition of real-time data platform Decodable and the launch of LangCache, a new semantic caching service for LLMs. These developments, unveiled by CEO Rowan Trollope during his visit to India for ‘Redis Released 2025’, underscore Redis’s commitment to providing essential infrastructure for AI agents and highlight India’s critical role in global AI innovation.

Bengaluru, India – September 19, 2025 – Redis, the world’s fastest data platform, has announced a significant expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, marked by the strategic acquisition of real-time data platform Decodable and the introduction of LangCache, a new fully managed semantic caching service. These pivotal announcements were made by Redis CEO Rowan Trollope during his maiden visit to India, coinciding with the ‘Redis Released 2025’ event held in Bengaluru.

The company’s enhanced AI roadmap is designed to evolve Redis from a high-speed in-memory data store into an essential infrastructure layer for AI, providing the crucial context and memory that intelligent software agents powered by large language models (LLMs) depend on. Trollope emphasized that as AI enters its next phase, the primary challenge is not merely demonstrating what language models can achieve, but rather equipping them with the necessary context and memory to operate with relevance and reliability.

The acquisition of Decodable is set to strengthen Redis’s capabilities in handling streaming data pipelines. Decodable’s platform simplifies the ingestion, transformation, and delivery of real-time data, making it easier for developers to convert raw data into actionable context within Redis. This integration is expected to enable organizations to scale AI applications with improved reliability and efficiency. Trollope stated, ‘The strategic investment we made in Decodable’s platform will make it easier for developers to build and expand data pipelines and convert that data into context within Redis, so it’s fast and always available in the right place at the right time.’

Alongside the acquisition, Redis unveiled LangCache, now available in public preview. This innovative semantic caching service is designed to optimize LLM performance by storing and retrieving semantically similar calls. LangCache promises substantial benefits, including a reduction in LLM API costs by up to 70% and delivering response times up to 15 times faster for cache hits compared to live inference. This tool aims to enable AI-powered chatbots, agents, and enterprise applications to provide faster, more consistent results at a fraction of the operational cost.

India has been highlighted as a cornerstone of Redis’s global growth and innovation strategy. Trollope underscored India’s pivotal role, citing its fast-growing startup ecosystem, millions of developers, and rapid enterprise adoption of AI. ‘India is not only a fast-growing market for Redis, it is also helping to shape the future of AI,’ Trollope remarked. He added that with one of the world’s largest startup ecosystems and millions of developers building intelligent applications, India represents the kind of scale, ambition, and innovation where Redis thrives.

Further enhancing its AI ecosystem, Redis also announced new integrations with leading agent frameworks such as AutoGen and Cognee, along with improvements to LangGraph. These integrations allow developers to seamlessly utilize Redis’s memory layer without extensive custom coding, simplifying the development of agents and chatbots.
