TLDR: Qualcomm Technologies and HARMAN, a Samsung subsidiary, have announced a strategic collaboration to integrate generative AI into next-generation automotive cockpit solutions. This partnership aims to deliver intelligent, contextual, and empathetic in-cabin experiences, leveraging Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Elite platforms with HARMAN’s Ready product portfolio, including the Luna AI avatar.
Munich, September 10, 2025 – Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and HARMAN, an independent subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, today unveiled a significant strategic collaboration aimed at revolutionizing the automotive industry through advanced generative AI. This partnership is set to deliver next-level cockpit solutions, accelerating the consumer-tech transformation within vehicles by enabling intelligent, contextual, and empathetic in-cabin experiences.
The initiative combines HARMAN’s extensive market-ready automotive product portfolio with Qualcomm Technologies’ high-performance automotive compute platforms. The core objective is to redefine how drivers and passengers interact with their vehicles, moving beyond traditional machine-like behavior towards a more intuitive and personalized digital environment.
Key to this collaboration is the integration of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon® Cockpit Elite platforms with HARMAN’s innovative ‘Ready’ lineup. This includes ‘Ready Engage’ featuring the ‘Luna AI’ avatar, designed for natural and empathetic interactions; ‘Ready Vision QVUE’ for augmented reality-rich visualization of critical information; and ‘Ready Care’ for AI-based driver monitoring and personalized interventions. These technologies will enable advanced AI models to transform the in-cabin experience, offering real-time Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) visualization, situational intelligence, and user interfaces capable of interpreting and responding to driver and passenger emotions, preferences, and contextual cues.
For automakers, this collaboration promises several advantages, including faster development cycles, reduced system complexity, and the ability to offer highly differentiated, human-centric experiences tailored to their brand identity. The companies are also working on robust, scalable solutions for HARMAN’s Central Compute portfolio, utilizing Snapdragon Ride™ Elite and Snapdragon Ride™ Flex SoCs. These platforms are designed to support mixed-criticality workloads concurrently on a single System-on-Chip (SoC), simplifying system design, reducing power consumption, and facilitating seamless, parallel interaction between safety-critical ADAS functions and infotainment systems.
