PSG iTech Hosts International Conference on Next Generation Computing Systems, Emphasizing AI and Sustainable Development

TLDR: PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) recently concluded its Third International Conference on Next Generation Computing Systems (ICNGCS 2025). The two-day event, held on August 21 and 22, 2025, focused on ‘Intelligent Systems for Sustainable Development’ and featured discussions on cutting-edge advancements in AI, machine learning, and intelligent computing, drawing experts from academia and industry.

Coimbatore, August 23, 2025 – The PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) successfully hosted its Third International Conference on Next Generation Computing Systems (ICNGCS 2025) on August 21 and 22, 2025. Organized by the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science, the conference convened leading researchers, industry professionals, and academicians to explore the theme of ‘Intelligent Systems for Sustainable Development.’

The two-day event commenced with an inaugural ceremony on August 21, presided over by Principal Saravanakumar, Secretary Mohanram, Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department Gomathy, and Head of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department Kalarani. The session included a welcome address by Gomathy, a Presidential Address by Saravanakumar, and a Felicitation Address by Mohanram, culminating in the formal release of the conference proceedings.

The conference served as a vital platform for showcasing pioneering research and technological advancements in intelligent computing, encompassing areas such as Cyber-Physical Systems, Cloud Computing, Green Computing, VLSI, Embedded Technologies, and Next-Generation Applications. It aimed to foster the exchange of ideas, collaboration, and innovation towards achieving sustainable development goals.

A significant highlight of ICNGCS 2025 was the impressive volume of research. The conference received 500 research papers, including submissions from international and industry contributors, underscoring the global interest in intelligent systems. Following a rigorous review process, 179 papers were selected for presentation during the technical sessions.

Keynote addresses provided deep insights into the future of computing. Meyappan Srinivasan, Group Manager at Bosch Global Software Technologies, Coimbatore, delivered a keynote on ‘Multimodal AI and the Rise of Trustworthy Intelligence,’ demonstrating the transformative applications of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI. Rajmohan Natesan, Senior Director at Radiant Global Technology, Chennai, served as the Guest of Honour and emphasized the critical importance of ‘Intelligent Computing, AI, and ML.’ He articulated a forward-looking perspective, stating, ‘Humans with AI will replace humans without AI,’ highlighting the necessity for AI to augment human processes rather than merely replace them.
