Prime Minister Modi conveyed his appreciation for Qualcomm’s dedication to India’s ambitious ‘IndiaAI’ and ‘India Semiconductor Missions’. He emphasized that India presents ‘unmatched talent and scale’ for developing technologies that are poised to shape the world’s collective future. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for an ‘enriching discussion’ aimed at strengthening the partnership between Qualcomm and India. Amon highlighted Qualcomm’s commitment to supporting the ‘IndiaAI’ and ‘India Semiconductor Missions’, as well as the nation’s transition towards 6G technology.
The discussions also delved into the vast opportunities for fostering an Indian ecosystem across a range of advanced technology sectors. These include AI smartphones, personal computers (PCs), smart glasses, automotive systems, and industrial applications. Qualcomm is reportedly planning to expand its business footprint in India, moving beyond its traditional focus on smartphone chipsets to areas like Extended Reality (XR) and smart glasses.
