TLDR: PeopleStrong has launched India’s first AI Co-Recruiter, a breakthrough technology that acts as an autonomous partner in the hiring process, shifting AI’s role from a mere assistant to a co-owner. Unveiled at People Matters TechHR India 2025, this AI is designed to accelerate recruitment by handling tasks like drafting, matching, screening, scheduling, and conducting initial interviews, significantly reducing hiring time and allowing human recruiters to focus on strategic relationship-building.
At the recently concluded People Matters TechHR India 2025, PeopleStrong, a leading HR technology company, announced a significant leap forward in recruitment with the unveiling of India’s first AI Co-Recruiter. This innovative solution aims to fundamentally transform hiring practices by repositioning artificial intelligence from a passive assistant to an active, autonomous co-owner of the entire recruitment journey.
Sandeep Chaudhary, CEO, and Vineet Pandita, CTO, of PeopleStrong, presented the AI Co-Recruiter, highlighting its capabilities to streamline and accelerate the hiring process. Traditionally, recruitment has been a complex and time-consuming endeavor, involving a fragmented series of tasks such as writing job descriptions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communications. These activities often demand extensive human effort, leading to prolonged hiring cycles.
According to PeopleStrong, their AI Co-Recruiter is engineered to handle these tasks with remarkable efficiency and nuance, akin to a seasoned human recruiter. It can draft job descriptions, match candidates to roles, screen applications, schedule interviews, and even conduct initial interviews autonomously. This comprehensive functionality is expected to compress processes that once took days into mere hours, thereby freeing up HR teams to dedicate their expertise to more strategic human-centric activities, such as building relationships and fostering a positive company culture.
Vineet Pandita emphasized the rapid evolution of AI, noting that at the beginning of 2025, AI tools could perform approximately 20 minutes of human work with an 80% accuracy and confidence level. He projected that this capability has likely doubled by now, reaching around 40 minutes of work. This exponential growth underscores a pivotal shift from simple automation to true ‘agency’ in AI, where intelligent agents can operate autonomously in unstructured environments.
Pandita further elaborated on the trajectory of AI’s capabilities, suggesting that if the current rate of task length doubling every seven months continues, by 2031, AI agents could be capable of autonomously managing entire projects that typically require a human to complete over a month. This foresight positions the AI Co-Recruiter not just as a tool for today but as a foundational element for the future of talent acquisition.
