NVIDIA Unveils AI Factory Blueprint to Bolster U.S. Government Operations and National Security

NVIDIA, a global leader in artificial intelligence and microprocessor design, has unveiled an ambitious AI Factory Design in collaboration with prominent U.S. technology companies and the Department of Energy. This initiative is strategically aimed at modernizing government operations, enhancing national security, and accelerating scientific discovery across various sectors. The announcement, made on October 28, 2025, highlights a significant investment in advanced AI infrastructure to power what NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang termed “the AI industrial revolution.”

Central to this endeavor is the development of seven new AI supercomputers for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) facilities, including Argonne National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The largest of these systems, named “Solstice,” is being built in partnership with Oracle and will feature a staggering 100,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. These supercomputers are designed to drive technological leadership in U.S. security, science, and energy applications, including the maintenance and advancement of the U.S. nuclear stockpile and research into alternative energy sources like nuclear fusion.

Further expanding its AI infrastructure, NVIDIA announced the establishment of an AI Factory Research Center at Digital Realty in Virginia. This state-of-the-art facility, powered by the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform, is set to accelerate breakthroughs in generative AI, scientific computing, and advanced manufacturing. It will also serve as a foundational hub for pioneering research in digital twins and large-scale simulation. The center lays the groundwork for NVIDIA Omniverse DSX, a blueprint for multi-generation, gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure build-outs utilizing NVIDIA Omniverse libraries.

Jensen Huang underscored the national imperative of these advancements, stating, “We are at the dawn of the AI industrial revolution that will define the future of every industry and nation. It is imperative that America lead the race to the future — this is our generation’s Apollo moment.” He added, “The next wave of inventions, discoveries and progress will be determined by our nation’s ability to scale AI infrastructure.” Huang also highlighted the company’s commitment to domestic manufacturing, quoting former President Trump’s directive to “bring manufacturing back” for national security.

NVIDIA’s collaborations extend beyond government labs to a broad spectrum of industries. The company is working with server makers like Cisco, Dell Technologies, HPE, and Supermicro to integrate NVIDIA GPUs and AI software into secure, scalable AI systems. Engineering and construction giants Bechtel and Jacobs are partnering with NVIDIA to integrate advanced digital twins into validated designs for complex architectural, power, mechanical, and electrical systems.

In telecommunications, NVIDIA is collaborating with T-Mobile and Nokia to build “AI-native” 6G cell phone towers, utilizing a new product called the Aerial RAN computer. This aims to position the U.S. at the forefront of the next generation of wireless technology. For autonomous mobility, NVIDIA has partnered with Uber to power 100,000 self-driving cars by 2027, using its Drive AGX Hyperion 10 system. Other automotive partners include Stellantis, Lucid, and Mercedes.

The company is also making significant strides in enterprise and cybersecurity. New partnerships with Palantir and CrowdStrike will integrate NVIDIA GPU-accelerated data processing and AI agents to optimize complex enterprise and government systems and enhance cybersecurity at “the speed of light.” With Siemens, NVIDIA is releasing technology to create “digital twins” of robotic factories, addressing manufacturing job openings and dangerous tasks.

Financially, NVIDIA’s influence is evident, with total AI chip orders reaching an unprecedented $500 billion and the company’s valuation recently surpassing $3 trillion.
