The announcement was made on September 25, 2025, with some reports emerging on September 26, 2025.
Audio2Face is a generative AI tool that automatically transforms speech into vivid facial expressions and natural lip movements. It analyzes phonemes, intonation, and other acoustic features from audio input to generate animation data. This data can then be mapped to a character’s facial poses, allowing for remarkably accurate lip-sync and expressive emotional responses. The technology supports both offline rendering for scripted content and real-time streaming for interactive applications, making it versatile for pre-rendered high-quality content and latency-sensitive scenarios.
This open-source release is a key component of Nvidia’s broader ‘ACE for Games’ initiative, which focuses on advancing AI-driven characters and interactive storytelling.
