TLDR: Nvidia has joined the India Deep Tech Alliance as a founding advisor, injecting significant global credibility and technical expertise into India’s burgeoning deep-tech ecosystem. The alliance, which supports startups in critical sectors like AI, semiconductors, space, and robotics, has now secured nearly $1.9 billion in capital commitments, aiming to bridge the funding gap for research-driven innovation in the country.
New Delhi, India – November 5, 2025 – Global technology giant Nvidia has officially joined the India Deep Tech Alliance as a founding advisor, marking a pivotal moment for India’s ambition to become a global innovation powerhouse. This strategic partnership, announced today, significantly boosts the country’s deep-tech initiative, which has now amassed nearly $1.9 billion in capital commitments.
The India Deep Tech Alliance, initially launched in September with a $1 billion commitment, has rapidly expanded its funding base with an additional $850 million in pledges from a consortium of Indian and U.S. investors. This substantial capital infusion is aimed at addressing the chronic underfunding faced by research-driven startups in India, which often struggle to attract venture capital due to longer development timelines and uncertain paths to profitability.
Nvidia’s involvement extends beyond mere financial backing. As a founding advisor, the company, renowned for its leadership in AI and computing, will provide crucial technical guidance, training, and policy input. This support is designed to help Indian deep-tech startups effectively adopt and leverage Nvidia’s cutting-edge AI and computing tools, thereby accelerating their innovation cycles and market readiness. This move is seen as a powerful signal of trust from one of the world’s most advanced technology leaders, recognizing the immense promise within India’s homegrown innovators.
The alliance is strategically focused on nurturing companies in high-technology sectors vital for India’s economic and strategic independence, including artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, space technology, and robotics. Other prominent investors joining or already part of the alliance include Qualcomm Ventures, Activate AI, InfoEdge Ventures, Chirate Ventures, Kalaari Capital, Celesta Capital, Accel, Blume Ventures, Gaja Capital, Premji Invest, Ideaspring Capital, and Tenacity Ventures.
India’s deep-tech ecosystem has been gaining significant momentum. Deep-tech funding in the country surged by 78% year-on-year to $1.6 billion last year, according to a report by industry body Nasscom. However, this still represents only about one-fifth of the total $7.4 billion raised across all sectors, indicating a substantial growth opportunity. The government has also signaled its commitment with a $12 billion initiative aimed at boosting research and development across high-tech sectors, further aligning with the alliance’s goals.
