Nota AI Unveils NVA: Korea’s First Commercialized VLM Solution for Advanced Video Surveillance

TLDR: Nota AI has officially launched NVA (Nota Vision Agent), a groundbreaking real-time video monitoring solution powered by Vision-Language Models (VLMs). This marks Korea’s first commercialized VLM-powered system for video surveillance, designed to interpret complex scenes, identify operational violations, and detect multifaceted risks, significantly enhancing safety and operational efficiency across various industrial sectors.

SEOUL, South Korea – August 12, 2025 – Nota AI, a prominent innovator in AI model optimization technology, today announced the commercial release of NVA (Nota Vision Agent), a cutting-edge real-time video monitoring solution. This pioneering system leverages advanced generative AI, specifically Vision-Language Models (VLMs), to revolutionize video surveillance capabilities.

Unlike conventional video monitoring systems that primarily rely on basic object detection, NVA offers a sophisticated approach by interpreting intricate scenes. It excels at understanding object relationships, identifying deviations from operational procedures, and detecting complex risk indicators in real time. This advanced capability addresses long-standing limitations of traditional computer vision (CV) solutions, such as frequent false positives, missed detections, and cumbersome rule configurations.

Nota AI’s NVA stands out as the first VLM-powered solution to be commercialized in Korea, and one of the few globally, successfully deployed in real-world industrial environments. Its intuitive interface supports natural-language-based Q&A and automated report generation, which collectively boost operational safety and responsiveness.

Following rigorous field validation, Nota AI is accelerating NVA’s deployment across diverse sectors. A notable success includes an eight-scenario Proof of Concept (PoC) completed in collaboration with Kolon Benit at Kolon Industries’ Gimcheon 2 Plant. A representative from Kolon Industries affirmed, “NVA elevates monitoring to a new level by detecting violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and identifying complex risk patterns before they escalate.” They further noted that traditional systems, limited to detecting discrete objects like ‘person’ or ‘vehicle,’ often failed to prevent accidents involving layered factors such as task sequence, equipment status, and environmental context, a gap NVA is designed to fill by understanding real-time situational context.

NVA is engineered for seamless integration with existing CCTV infrastructure, facilitating easy adoption without the need for hardware replacement. The solution is highly scalable, capable of serving sites ranging from small facilities to large industrial complexes, and ensures robust data protection through end-to-end encryption.

With this significant launch, Nota AI plans to expand NVA into global markets, including the Middle East and North America. The company is actively validating the solution’s applicability across various domains, including industrial safety, targeted monitoring, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), retail, and childcare, and is pursuing commercialization through strategic partnerships both domestically and internationally.

Myungsu Chae, CEO of Nota AI, commented on the launch, stating, “NVA delivers real impact in industrial settings by reducing risks and improving workplace safety. It represents a practical and effective application of generative AI, purpose-built to address complex challenges across industries. Our goal is to make NVA the global benchmark for industrial AI monitoring.” Chae also highlighted the strategic importance of NVA, adding, “As we prepare for our IPO, NVA is more than just a new product — it’s a strategic milestone that showcases our technological maturity and commercial readiness. We believe it will be a cornerstone in establishing Nota AI’s leadership in the industrial AI domain.”
