This performance highlights the critical role of data verification and established “data pipelines” in delivering precise information, especially in high-stakes scenarios like national examinations.
Industry insiders emphasize that “AI inherently does not guarantee correct answers,” pointing out that “Search portals have strengths in enhancing accuracy based on authoritative sources and ‘data pipelines.'” This distinction became evident when comparing the two AI systems’ responses to CSAT-related queries.
For instance, when asked about the CSAT key schedule, ChatGPT provided an incorrect application period, stating “August 26 to September 6.” The actual correct period, however, was “August 21 to September 5.” This discrepancy arose because ChatGPT generated its answer based on unofficial information found online. In contrast, Naver delivered accurate information, as it did when queried about the “2025 CSAT grade cutoffs,” where its responses were notably more precise.
Naver’s superior accuracy is attributed to its meticulously developed “data pipeline.” For crucial domestic information such as the CSAT, Naver collaborates directly with key institutions including the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, EBSi, and prominent admissions companies like Daesung MyMac and Jongno Academy. This collaborative approach ensures that information is manually verified before being disseminated to users.
Starting 30 days before the annual CSAT, Naver implements a specialized system, displaying separate search results and consistently updating essential details such as key schedules, timetables, preparation items, and precautions released by the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, right up until the day before the exam.
