TLDR: Nasscom President Rajesh Nambiar emphasizes India’s need for technologists who can create scalable, impactful solutions beyond traditional coding. This push aligns with the upcoming Tech Developer Confluence, which will focus on emerging technologies like generative AI, quantum computing, and cybersecurity.
NEW DELHI – India’s burgeoning tech industry, home to over five million technologists, is at a pivotal juncture, according to Rajesh Nambiar, President of Nasscom. Nambiar asserts that the nation’s future success hinges on fostering a new generation of ‘builders’ who can think beyond conventional coding to develop scalable and impactful solutions. This vision is central to Nasscom’s inaugural Tech Developer Confluence, scheduled for August 8 in Bengaluru.
Speaking ahead of the event, Nambiar stated, ‘The confluence is an attempt to rewire how we train, inspire, and spotlight developer talent in India.’ The conference is designed as a national platform to unite students, developers, and technology leaders, aiming to transform potential into tangible products, capability into innovation, and local talent into global impact. The initiative seeks to future-proof India’s skilling ecosystem and encourage widespread participation in the deep tech economy.
The Tech Developer Confluence will showcase cutting-edge technologies, including generative AI (GenAI), quantum computing, and cybersecurity, through a series of hands-on sessions, masterclasses, and hackathons. The agenda is specifically tailored to move beyond theoretical discussions, focusing instead on fostering practical, scalable innovations.
