MOS Utility and DigiAsia Corp Forge Expanded AI-Powered Branchless Banking Partnership

TLDR: MOS Utility, an NSE SME stock, has announced an expanded strategic partnership with Nasdaq-listed DigiAsia Corp. This collaboration aims to develop AI-powered branchless banking and financial inclusion solutions, targeting a market opportunity exceeding US$30 billion across Indonesia and India.

MOS Utility Limited, an Indian fintech innovator listed on the NSE (MOS), and DigiAsia Corp., a leading Indonesian fintech platform listed on NASDAQ (FAAS), have officially announced an expanded strategic partnership. This collaboration extends beyond their existing payment services to encompass AI-powered branchless banking, AI-driven infrastructure, and comprehensive financial inclusion solutions. The joint venture is set to tap into a substantial market opportunity, estimated to be over US$30 billion.

Under this broadened partnership, MOS Utility’s modular fintech infrastructure will be integrated to significantly scale DigiAsia’s branchless banking operations throughout Indonesia. A key objective is to onboard more than one million merchants as financial service agents, thereby extending crucial financial access to underserved communities across the archipelago. The initiative also aims to bolster financial inclusion in India.

A core component of this strategic alliance involves the co-development of advanced Artificial Intelligence capabilities. These include:

AI Agent Performance Scoring: Utilizing predictive models to identify high-potential agents within the network, optimizing their effectiveness and reach.

Cash Management AI: Implementing liquidity forecasting tools to minimize cash shortages at the agent level, ensuring smoother operations.

AI Conversational Assistant: Developing a multilingual voice and chat interface designed to support agents in guiding customers through various financial processes, including payments, savings, and micro-loan applications.

The partnership is also deeply committed to various financial inclusion initiatives. These services will encompass cash collection, cash disbursal, consumer loan origination, and automated Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, all designed to provide essential banking access to previously underserved markets.

Strategically, the collaboration is poised to enhance inclusive access in rural and semi-urban areas of Indonesia by empowering micro-merchants to function as branchless banking agents. The integration of AI-based tools is anticipated to significantly improve agent performance, reduce service disruptions, and elevate the overall customer experience in both Indonesia and India.

Prashant Gokarn, Co-CEO of DigiAsia Corp., emphasized the transformative nature of this partnership, stating, ‘Our partnership with MOS is about more than payments—it is about building AI-powered branchless banking ecosystems that empower over a million Indonesian merchants and lay the foundation for digital trade and inclusive finance across Asia.’

Mr. Chirag Shah, Chairman & Director of MOS Utility Limited, echoed this sentiment, remarking, ‘By combining MOS’s modular fintech infrastructure with DigiAsia’s distribution reach, we are creating a platform that will transform how financial services are delivered. From agent-network AI to cross-border to support financial inclusion in emerging markets.’
